Server naming convention (new players, please read)
By HungarianPatriot
This guide proposes a simple server naming convention, already widely used by more experienced players. The goal of this naming convention is to remedy the inherent disfunctionality of Deathwing's server browser.

As we all know, the UI of this game leaves a lot to be desired. This is especially true for the server browser, which fails to display key information: it leaves players unknowing of a server's difficulty setting and whether or not friendly fire is enabled, and sometimes even the ping. Jumping in blindly on a server can lead to numerous unpleasant things, as you can surely imagine. For these reasons, it is up to us, the players, to deliver these information to our Battle Brothers. The only way to do so is to include them in the name of the hosted server. Below is an example to a server naming format that fulfills this requirement:

  • Difficulty / FF / special

Where difficulty is either "Easy", "Normal", "Hard", or "NM" (short for No Mercy, AKA Very Hard), FF is whether there is friendly fire ("FF On" or just "FF" if yes, "FF Off" if no), and special is any extra information you want to disclose.

Now that the matchmaking and the server browser reach across all regions, and the ping display is bugged, showing 9999 for all servers, it is highly recommended that you give the approximate location of the server (EU, US, etc) in the special section, to allow players to guess at their connection speed even as the ping display fails.

Thoughts for the day:
++The difference between heresy and treachery is ignorance.++
++He who allows the alien to live shares its crime of existence.++

@A jar of bees They're gyrojet weapons, minimal powder to fire them to minimise recoil and allow for accurate bursts and even controllable fully automatic fire,

second phase propellant is a rocket that fires, often after the rounds left the barrel but unsure with bolters, this means they can leave many firing solutions to directions delivered by their helm system/target array, directing bullets with unnerving accuracy and timing. On top of their super-human battlefield cognition, reflexes and strength, the gyrojet weapon system allows them to fire and forget in many regards.

third phase propellant being the warhead can launch an AP object further.

Another benefit for bolt round weaponry is despite it's heavy projectile and often heinously heavy weapon, is that it has a recoil weight much smaller than other many comparable projectile weapons, so can feasibly be used by non-augmented soldiers due to this, although modified heavily in the most.

I wasn't experienced, but thought this was standard no matter what game you were playing. When games don't show those on the connection browser. You tell the players yourself.

"So if I figure out a way to tame a Tyranid Hive, you are saying that the Imperium wouldn't take advantage of that and use them to wipe out some Orks? The only thing that does seem effective at eliminating an Ork infestation are the Tyranids... or maybe an exterminatus."

@scienceteam - the correct answer is "you dont want want xenos tech" end. there is no justification required. There is no conversation. Anything else is heresy.
