Sindri Type-B Construction- & Salvage-Vessel

The SINDRI Type-B Construction- & Salvage-Vessel is an adaptable small grid Tool-Carrier, designed for planets and moons with atmosphere. It is battery-powered, backed up by multiple Reactors, uses Atmospheric Thrusters, and holds 3 medium cargo containers. The SINDRI-series comes with two hardpoints and can serve as a designated Welder, Grinder or both.

This item is survival-ready! It is fully conveyed, thruster-damage compatible and uses no mods or subgrids.


The Type-B of the SINDRI-series is a refit of its predcessor and aims to extend the line with a more compact and flexible variant.

By swapping the placement of the thruster-compartement and the main conveyor-network, the Type-B is much more suited to perform close-surface-tasks under heavy load. The reduction of cargo-volume in favor of additional thrust and power-supply, while also shortening the dimensions, make the Sindri Type-B more controlable and user-friendly.

This refit of the SINDRI was created to give operators an easier way to weld structures under gravity. The Thruster-placement of the original vessel forced their pilots to either tilt the vessel very far or approach the object upside-down, putting all the stress on the brake-thrusters. This often lead to confusion with unexperienced pilots and required to bring in additional, smaller construction-ships to weld the tight places.

To face this problem, the tool- and thruster-placement on the Type-B was switched, bringing the Welder/Grinder closer to the ground. Additionaly, a cargo-container was dropped. This allowed the ship to be more compact, light-weight and requiring less thrusters - and therefore having more power-reserves.

Despite these changes, the SINDRI Type-B is still fitted with a large array of thrusters and remains one of the fastest and maneuverable construction-ships on the market.

Power-supply is provided by batteries, but the ship comes with multiple small reactors that can be used to prolong the time of operation, recharge batteries away from your homebase or help to reduce power-spikes.


The Sindri Type-B was a request from a friend of mine, who started a new colony on Mars. After providing him with the predcessor, I gota lot of useful feedback from him that I wasn't able to gather myself.

As it turned out, the Sindri was not ready to deal with Mars' thin atmosphere, causing it to drift under heavy load or not being able to take off at all when loaded with heavy equipment like steel plates.
Another issue was the arrangement of the ships components. Having the thruster-compartement underneath the tools, the ship was unable to effectly weld up large structures on the ground like landing pads.

This version was first put together in a hurry, but received good ffedback. So I further optimized it and also added a space-version.
