Changes from the origional version

1) Water can now pass under the structure with out any flooding issuses.

2) The Pier no longer flattens and now conforms to the terrain

3) The Asset can now be placed on ground or water – … place Pier first then add road…

This asset uses the built in sub buildings and will download in one file.

My first asset after learning how to use Blender.

Grand Pier from Weston-super-Mare (UK) my home town.

This asset uses the built in sub buildings via the asset editor and will download in one file.

Warning this is a complex asset and very big. it has a high tris count compared with the average building, BUT considering it covers 224 blocks the average tris count per block is 162 far less than a tree per 8sq meters. Also it is built of the coast and will not have a lot of assets around it.

Two further notes

1) you will need the ‘Move It’ Mod to align it with the road height. Due to the limitations of the asset editor all textures below ground become grey, so I have raised the model to ground level, just use ‘move it’ to lower the model down.

2) I have left a 8mtr gap in front of the model, this is not an error. This has two purposes firstly to stop the model dragging down the road, and to allow a path to be laid along the front, giving a better gap between pier and road. Tip: to lay the path draw it close to asset, the move into place with ‘move it’ mod.

The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare it is a pleasure pier sitting on the Bristol Channel and is 400 metres (1,300 ft) long.

The original Grand Pier was built in 1904, but has been destroyed by Fire Twice, once in 1930 and again in 2008.

I have recreated the latest modern version completed in 2010 at a cost of £39,000,000 my model is just under the 400 mtrs length.
