US Armor
Sherman
Sherman M4A3

Front Armor and General information
The Sherman is a well armored medium tank attacking from the front, or going after the top turret is not ideal.

Rear Armor
The rear is pretty much guaranteed an armor penetration to the engine but there are a couple of reinforced plates but hand held AT should not have any issue at the ranges you will be engaging.

Side Armor
The most ideal way to engage this and many other medium tanks is from the side, the M4A3 is symmetrical so left or right side is the same. Ideally put a round right under the front of the turret and slightly above the tank treads will penetrate the armor and hit the ammunition right next to all of the crew causing an instantaneous explosion.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stuart
Stuart M5

Front Armor and General information
The Stuart is a quick light tank, but has paper for armor. Any solid AT hit should take her down in single shot, if the Stuart decides to roll through a town with no support any AT from the top will likely kill.

Rear Armor
The rear is just as weak as the majority of the tank, and the engine takes up nearly the entirety.

Side Armor
The side on the Stuart again is paper thin. The Stuart is symmetrical so left or right side is the same. Any side shot in the middle will hit the crew, the ammo, or the engine, this is the most ideal angle to engage.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
British Armor
Firefly
Sherman Firefly

Front Armor and General information
The Sherman Firefly is a well armored medium tank, it is quick and has a fast main cannon fire rate. Attacking from the front, or going after the top turret is not ideal. It is also missing a coaxal MG on the front that is replaced by an ammunition rack but that will be covered later.

Rear Armor
The rear is pretty much guaranteed an armor penetration to the engine fairly straight forward.

Side Left Armor
The most ideal way to engage this and many other medium tanks is from the side. The Firefly however is not symmetrical the left side has a larger ammo rack and reinforcement protecting the ammo and the driver. Ideally put a round right into the star though the closer to the reinforced sections the better, and if you think you can penetrate the reinforced section that is the most ideal as the brunt of the ammo is located behind that additional armor. The engine is also exposed, and would be easy to disable from either side at this angle.

Side Right Armor
Again engaging a medium armored tank from the side is advantageous, on the firefly varrient the coaxial MG has been replaced with increased ammo but the area holding the ammo has been reinforced. If you attack from the right side (of the tank) you are going to want to try and penetrate that reinforced armor. Which if you penetrate should one shot the firefly. Do not aim for the star unless you are targeting the main gun operator. There is another ammo box located near the tank treads in the center of this side, but it will be difficult to hit through the treads. Again the engine is also exposed, and would be easy to disable from either side at this angle.

Additional Information
Obviously the Sherman Firefly is an American Medium tank, but it's listed as a British vehicle in game, but both sides use this variant and possibly the Polish reserve forces as well. I'd have to check on one of those layers. I probably will when cleaning up this guide list vehicles by their actual manufacturing countries instead of how the game lists them, and maybe interesting tidbits about each. That is, if I'm not lazy AF about it.

Churchill
Churchill MK IV

Front Armor and General information
The Churchill is really just an all around great heavy tank. The armor on the front will shrug off 75 and 88's without much fear of penetration. If you are attempting to engage this tank the most ideal is from above, though a smart crew would not take a Churchill into a town. When engaging your biggest strength is that you should be able to out maneuver as the turret is very slow to move and only slightly augmented by the drivers ability to communicate with the gunner for quicker target acquisition.

Rear Armor
The rear is one of the only easy access weak points. Ideally hitting the engine thus disabling its already limited mobility allowing you to out maneuver the already slow moving turret section. All that said, I have had a direct hit with a Raketenpanzerbüchse 54 at under 100 meters saw the engine explode but it kept moving up and around a hedgerow as though nothing ever happened either way taking out a Chuchill as ground AT is a helluva task..

Side Left Armor
Unlike many of the medium armored tanks, the Churchill is heavily armored on the side, if you are using handheld AT, or are in an armored vehicle (any Panzerspähwagen) you are going to have a hard time engaging from this angle unless you have elevation. Again elevation is king when attempting to engage a Churchill. If you do have an 88 or something with some oomph there is an ammo storage located behind the side skirt which I've highlighted with red on an accompanying screen shot.

Side Right Armor
Again engaging the Churchill from the sides is difficult for anything but the big guns. The right side of the tank has two slightly larger ammo boxes though the one closer to the front is deeper within the hull and needs a deeper penetration to ignite the ammo inside, I've indicated this by darkening the box on the included screenshot. I haven't mentioned this before but you will know you had an ammo penetration if after the hull is cooking off rounds you'll hear them crackling in the tanks smoldering remains. Also if you have the ability to penetrate the armor on the sides, you could always go for the engine to disable to tank allowing for an easy follow up ammo penetration kill.

Additional Information
The Churchill is a beast and very difficult for ground AT to deal with, however if you are in a building above the tank, always go for the engine it's the entirety of the rear of the tank behind the turret. This will allow you to follow up with a shot on the commander and gunner that could possible detonate the ammo inside but nearly guarantee the disabling of the turret ring.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cromwell
Mark VIII A27M Cromwell 1

Front Armor and General information
The Cromwell is a well armored medium tank attacking from the front, or going after the top turret is not ideal. Again if you have a height advantage it's always worth going after the gunner and turret or the easy engine kill.

Rear Armor
The rear is pretty much guaranteed an armor penetration to the engine hand held AT should not have any issues penetrating at the ranges you will be engaging.

Side Armor
The most ideal way to engage this and many other medium tanks is from the side, the Cromwell is symmetrical so left or right side is the same. Ideally put a round right in between the third and fourth wheel near the tank treads will penetrate the armor and hit the ammunition right next to all of the crew causing an instantaneous explosion.

Additional Information
The British Cromwell is a speedy boy, he can be used as a scouting vehicle but has a solid 6-pounder that can hang with the best of them. He is vulnerable to being engine disabled and having a follow up kill shot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Staghound
T17E1 Staghound

Front Armor and General information
The Staghound is a very lightly armored vehicle with the same 37mm main cannon as the M5 Stuart. When used properly the Staghound is always mobile harassing MSP's and the back line. Do not be afraid to engage from the front on this one, as the armor is minimal.

Rear Armor
Not much to say for these light armored vehicles, the engine is located in the back and will probably end up killing in a single shot.

Side Armor
The Staghound is very thin, if you shoot at the crew you are very likely to get a penetration and a kill. The ammo is located under the main turret and presents an appealing target.

Additional Information
Funny enough the Staghound is an American vehicle that only saw use with the British forces.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daimler
Daimler Armoured Car

Front Armor and General information
The Daimler is a very lightly armored vehicle with a 40mm 2 pounder cannon. When used properly the Daimler is always mobile harassing MSP's and the back line. Do not be afraid to engage from the front on this one, as the armor is minimal and even the front angles are not curved well.

Rear Armor
Not much to say for these light armored vehicles, the engine is located in the back and will probably end up killing in a single shot.

Side Armor
The Daimler is very thin, if you shoot at the crew you are very likely to get a penetration and a kill. The ammo is located around the turret in an X like pattern around the feet of gunner/commander.

Additional Information
Funny enough the Daimler is a British vehicle that is used by the US forces in this game.

German Armor
My reference.
I'm using Dasu's Armor viewer he's hosting it himself and also has it on github. After I clean up and show images for each major vehicle this section will be moved to the bottom. Still, I'd like to thank Dasu for his hard work. Also the Post Scriptum wiki.

Requests
If anyone could give me an itemized list of which armor is located on which maps. I can prioritize the most common vehicles, and probably eventually separate things into either maps, or years.

Nice guide. Now I know why I fail at AT all the time

Alright, I played an awesome round today as a German sniper.. Man this game feels great sometimes...Took a long break because I have no one to play this game with. I think I got my motivation back. I need to add German Vics to help you allied players out.

Pro, I want to but I don't know how to use blender myself and I do not know where the ammunition is located and I would hate to provide bad information. What I could do is show where the armor is the most thick. I also have to add the german vics.. I've been unmotivated during this crisis even though I have so much free time.

As a question - will you update for anti-tank rifles and french/german armor 1940?
Varg's Wholesome Smile  [author] 26 Apr, 2020 @ 11:29am
You might have somehow missed all solid parts. I did some testing and there are parts where its only armor and you technically don't do hull damage to the vic, but two 88's in the side of a tin can like the Daimler thats rough.
TheOnlyRyan 26 Apr, 2020 @ 11:02am
Put 2 Tiger 88 APCR into the side of a diamler, it simply drove off lmao.

I probably missed the ammo by a small amount but god damn that should register as a kill jesus

Yeah I really wish that would work too.. Also I need to stop being a slacker and add the German vics.
