In 2012 the plane’s exterior was painted with the markings of the P-51 flown by Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Bob Friend in WW2. At a gala honoring the Tuskegee Airmen, nine Tuskegee Airmen signed the Red Tail of this plane.

The Red Tail with the signatures is on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum for posterity and future generations to see.

On February 28, 2015 our restored P-51 “Bunny” was unveiled with several Tuskegee Airmen in attendance. These heroes signed the top of the left stabilizer.

When not flying, see the P-51 Mustang “Bunny” at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

Old build. I think it uses the old cooling exploit that was fixed.

I was trying out some different mustangs to see the differences in older planes and mine and I got this one I had a bit of trouble getting into the cockpit then both times that I took off its engine caught on fire even with the throttle reduced. The Throttle lever on the right is dead. Of the little bit I did get to fly it though its buttery smooth fast response on the controls is nice but it does seem pretty touchy on the takeoff almost too touchy.

hmmm...it appears they changed something again - it's the landing gear. It's possible to still fly it but it's very touchy. I take a look at it at a later date. I'm kind of sick of stormworks breaking things.

So you Like Movie Prop vehicles? I am thinking about trying to make a Stormworks recreation of "Flight of the Phoenix" by taking a C-119 and using one of its twin booms and attaching the opposite wing to the boom to create a new plane. If I make the original, I would have problems with the kingpost for the bracing. This site does show some photos of the original version: https://madhulikaliddle.com/2012/10/31/the-flight-of-the-phoenix-1965/
The remake version will be easier to recreate the bracing, the main trouble with both versions is getting rid of the main fuselage to make room to attach the wings and boom.
