Not long after the original Aetherdrift Passenger Transport was launched for public sale, a Starmarine general was riding in one on his way home for leave. So impressed was he with the vehicle, that he immediately inquired with his department at the Hexagon to explore a military version.

!4 passengers with luggage became 8 soldiers with full gear and ruck sacks. Hull mounted chainguns became homing missile launchers. And where there was once a single narrow door for loading and unloading passengers, there was no 2 large openings on both sides of the vessel, with double doors and ramps.

This new variant would be dubbed, the Aetherdrop. Designed to jump from one location to another, drop it's passengers off, and jump back. Starmarine SpecOps units have been known to live out of these things for months at a time while on mission.
