Healing
When the wearer is struck while below 15% health, there is a 15% chance that the mask will heal the wearer and any nearby allies with the Grand Healing spell, and grant a Flame Cloak for 10 seconds.
Spectral ally
Whenever the wearer is struck while below 15% health, there is a 3% chance that the mask will not only restore the user's health, but also summon a Spectral Dragon Priest ally. The said character may use Ice Spike and Reanimate Corpse. Should corpses be absent, the Dragon Priest will instead summon a Storm Atronach.

I've just finished a painful fight against Nahkriin, had like 20 draugur deathlords and 2 dragons on me too. Took 20 tries, but I'm finally done.

Then I have to do this 7 more times, and when I'm done, what do I get? A 15% chance to heal and a 3% chance to summon an ally, that doesn't seem worth it.

Why don't we get a consistent effect, like maybe a fusion of all of the other masks, with weaker effects for each? (e.g. 10% cheaper spells instead of 20%)

Who cares about it being overpowered, this game has the fortify restoration exploit, the infinite wardrobe exploit, and more, with none patched. If you have to kill 8 dragon priests, and beat the game, you should be able to be overpowered.

@beepityBoopity It is possible it was some kind of fortification that got destroyed over the years.

if you bought a physical SSE when it first came out, it comes with a map that has an X on every dragon mask location

most of the dragon masks: hidden deep inside an ancient tomb

Krosis: literally just on a mountain, not even protected by a dragon until thousands of years after death
