Ole stepped up on the garden fence to get a view over the fields. At the bottom of Tekop Hill, he could glimpse Hansens Boathouse. To his reluctance, he patted his knee as he spectated Hansen take care of the barn door, scraping it with a butcher knife, carefully salving it in oil. Peculiar, he dare say. Hansen might actually be ready for the festival tonight! Ole spluttered with excitement and jumped down from the fence. He hastily opened the kitchen door and slammed it shut after he had stormed in with a big grin on his wrinkled face. Erik screamed silently in shock, calmly peeling the rootbeets with a smirk.
