IMPORTANT: You must start a new game or import in order to see the full effect of this mod in-game!

NOTE: I have run into a repeated pathfinding issue with one of the buildings created for this mod that I can’t seem to fix into the mod itself. If you can’t enter a building, rebuild the navmesh with Ctrl+Shift+F11 and it’ll fix it on the fly.

WHAT IS THIS MOD?

“If you don't deal with your demons, they will deal with you, and it's gonna hurt.”

This mod adds a new skeleton sub-race to Kenshi- this time an addition to ‘round out’ the ‘slim’ choices we got in the vanilla game. Enter the Hazards Unit, a skeleton variant designed to survive in the toxic industrial waste piling up in the Old World. These mighty machines were equipped with nigh-impenetrable spherical shells, and were exceptionally durable and strong in their own right.

Some of these bygone titans have survived to the modern day, and they are easily among the strongest warriors out in the wilderness. Legends say they can't be killed. Of course, these shell-heads don’t always see eye-to-eye with their squishy neighbors. There are ancient sins to be atoned for…

WHAT DOES THIS MOD ADD?

-Rather than simply throwing a new race into the game, I’ve gone and added a new enemy faction to raise hell in your game. They’re very tough.

-There is a unique recruit named 8-Ball. I don’t need to explain that one, do I? You can find him across the United Cities, but he’s a guaranteed spawn in Brink. I think you’ll find he’s a ball to have around.

-Hazards Units are sprinkled throughout the world to complement the vanilla skeleton types. Their spherical armor can also be found for sale around civilized parts. Other races can wear it. It looks funny.

-There is a new weapon added in as well: the Long Spiked Mace. It’s a long spiked mace. Whack.

-And there are a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

IS THIS MOD LORE-FRIENDLY?

-Strictly speaking, no. There is no mention of Hazards Units in dialog. However, I believe I made this mod in the spirit of the lore. Thought and care were put into fleshing out the new faction and characters and placing them into the world of Kenshi.

Oni Hazard Shells have blueprints that are lootable but they are no attached tot he heavy armor table armor crafts list so the Blueprints don't do anything.

Small Bug I just found looking at the stats Non Oni Hazard Units have their "Combat move Speed Multi" set to 9 instead of 0.9 unlike the Oni Hazard and all other Skeletons

Just discovered the oni and boy are they a ball! Found a tower of trial with beep while solo and decided to explore, naturally he said hes a skeleton too, and the oni didnt like that and then about 8 onis jumped beep, beep managed to exit the tower with 3 following him, knocked them out and stole their armour, great for surviving venge. Naturally he wasn't finished exploring the tower so using stealth he systematically knocked out the oni, then realised he could just put them all in a peeler, he was lucky he did, because eventually he got knocked out and they couldn't put him in a peeler because they were already full, managed to recover enough to escape running away with them screaming about the irony if their situations. So great so far, and i love the weapon and the lore.

Last night my team got kidnapped by a platoon of Oni. Long story short, they peeled all of the captured except one -- they kept him alive. Over a dozen of them working to heal him faster than he could be peeled, but they didn't do this until he was down to one limb.

They seem so naturally diabolical it's a keeper for me. I have already captured two, and I use them for combat training, which seems to work great for now because they can soak some hits.

In order to do anything about their bases I feel the best option is to set up a "combat hospital" (enough healing beds to heal people within the map section) and lure them out one by one, but with thrall masters running around Venge a combat hospital strategy will be tedious. So far no raids on my outpost from these devils

Is 8-ball supposed to have over 100 strength? I recruited him and he started out at 108! I dunno if it's due to the 1.5x racial bonus or what, but it's a little crazy.

i got stuck inside the tower for the oni tower with the lost oni cant leave, no pathing out

A little heads up for anyone wanting to use this mod in the future: It's hasn't been updated for 4 years now.
Be expected to have to deal with frequent oni raids that consists of about a dozen onis, each with 350-400hp limbs and absurd stats should you decided to make a base anywhere on the map. Should your base gets wiped, you better prepare to have a plan to rescue any of your guys who got carried away or else they will get peeled.

It's very unique and well made, but not fun to play with, a pass for me.
