With the release of Gathering Storm, floodplains have become much more common, which results in less overall appeal and housing. This mod changes the floodplains appeal modifier to 0, where it would otherwise be -1.

Hmm... Not sure how I feel about this one. I don't have an issue with the mod itself. I think flood plains -1 appeal is kinda whack but would probably pair well with a nerf to dams or other appeal related buildings in reference to floodplains.

Not a bad idea re: Dams, but a matter of time and motivation (don't have much of either atm).

I only say this for a reason:Main thematically, as gorgeous as floodplain rivers are, they would have been seen as high reward, high risk, if you also lived/worked on them. As flooding back then, wouldn't have had the canal and dam systems most countries have today. Plus, there were much more perspiration back then that kept rivers in routine flooding seasons. Sure, dams today mitigated this to create a reliable, safe area (if they don't break,) but the draw back is their reduced silt yields being held by the dam and reduced fish via reduced fish spawning up stream like Salmon, so that's why Dams produce less yields when their is an environmental flooding event in game.

Hey Sailor Cat, could i suggest a Lite Version of this mod? You know, or as i do always forget, that Dams have a +1 Appeal aura around it (like Wonders do,) well, what if the River you finish building a Dam on, only then, transforms Floodplain tiles become Neutral Appeal (as your mod does from Turn 1, but would require the Dam.) You could add this for the Great Bath too! Additionally, you could then lower that Appeal back to -1 Appeal when/while the District is 'broken' from Sabotage or a different weather event (like how any Pillaged Tile or District get -1 Appeal to it.)

I think this would make it more dynamic play, in line with the base game, while keeping it a greater difference from Cleo, Ptolemaic. (Yes i know, they get a full +1 which i already different.)

I know maybe this mod is too old, and it doesn't have to be a new mod, could just replace this one. It's your mods after all.

The Nile was amazing because of its fertility, not because it was a wonderful place to live. Think about all the mosquitoes and diseases that standing water can cause.

Considering how amazing areas like the Nile can be, I never understood floodplains being ugly in the game, thanks.

thanks for this
-1 appeal is a total nonsense
