Fast Save

Removes unnecessary information from save files, increasing the speed (up to 50% late game) of saving, loading, and auto-saving games. Includes an option to further speed up autosaves by moving some automatic save-related tasks into a background thread and replacing slow serialization routines with much faster delegates.

Make a backup of your save before using this mod.

• Removes old information in the Daily Report sections of the save, and allows autosaves to be conducted in the background during play.
  
• Options for this mod can be configured in the Mods screen.
  
• Existing save games must be loaded and saved again for this mod to take effect. Daily reports will only be checked and cleaned at nightfall.
  
• Safe mode does not affect achievements like Carnivore or Easy Living.
  
• Removing this mod will not break saves that it has affected.

Save Optimization - Controls how aggressively Fast Save prunes information

• Safe (default) - Does not visibly affect daily reports.
  
• Moderate - Preserves the 20 most recent daily reports while improving performance slightly. This mode may affect the Finely Tuned Machine achievement.
  
• Aggressive - Preserves only the 2 most recent daily reports to improve performance more. This mode may affect multiple achievements.

Background Save - Allows autosaves to be performed in the background

• Deselected - Autosaves will be performed in the foreground normally.
  
• Selected (default) - Parts of autosaves will be performed on a background thread, reducing the length of the associated gameplay freeze. Manual saves will be unaffected. No changes to the saved game format are made by this option.

Use Delegates - Experimental option! Reduces autosave time by up to 50%, but may crash the game. Use this option at your own risk.

Oxygen Not Included must be restarted for options changes to take effect.

• If this mod is disabled or unsubscribed, any daily reports removed by this mod will crash the game if viewed. Avoid browsing to old daily colony reports if this mod is installed and then uninstalled.

• Compatible with Autosave Drag Fix mod.
  
• Incompatible with Remove Daily Reports mod. This mod and Remove Daily Reports have similar functions, and can conflict in some cases.
  
• Incompatible with Asynchronous Autosave mod.
