@Squidbody Well, i mean, this is a game that is heavily featuring references, that is FILLED with them to the brim, who's character concept initially came from a project that is one of the referenced sources and is made with the same engine as one of the referenced games. So what is more likely here?

why are people assuming its a reference lmao it might just be a similar sound

"Who wants some Wang?" you find somewhere in the bathroom (thats where I found it, which was when you first enter the building after the mech boss).

Portal has a reference as well with the cake, along with the door and companion cube. Idk if its a reference or coincidence but I notice theres a achievement for defeating the Revenant 8991-PX. Spell 8991-PX backwards and you get XP-1998. Idk if its meant as a reference to Windows XP or its just coincidence.

Also theres a Shadow Warrior reference "Who Wants some Wang?", along with Duke Nukem 3D "Shake it baby" at the ATM and other various Duke Nukem reference. Someone mentioned theres a Blood reference as well. This game really has alot of references to the classics and I love it.

there are a plethora of homages and references to pop culture and games of the 90's in Ion Fury. from the get go you hear that grenade bounce sound, and Shelly is posed just like BJ Blazkowicz was on the original artwork for Wolfenstein 3D. Then when you start a new game, the difficulty selection screen has clever names like "Ultra Viscera" similar to "Ultra Violence" from Doom. Even with the increasingly more bloody faces coresponding to each difficulty tier. These are just a few examples. The list goes on and on. Anyway, great stuff.
