"Immediate Contact" [SP]

The island of Altis, de facto divided into two independent republics after a bloody inter-ethnic war that ended in 2009, faces the growth of violence between fundamentalist groups and the political implications that this has on the tense relationship between the two States. In addition, the presence of Russian troops stationed in the south, and Turkish in the north, makes the island a new hot spot between the member countries of the CSTO and NATO.

However, in June 2020, Turkey has deployed Navy troops very close to the border between both halves of the island, putting Russian and South Altis forces on alert immediately, waiting for a possible armed confrontation, seen the Turkish silence in the emergency meeting that Russia requested in the UN Security Council to address these military maneuvers.
As a preventive measure of the South, the civilian population is being evacuated and the armed forces have been put on alert and deployed immediately.

Three platoons of the 1st Company, of the 880th Naval Infantry Battalion, will contribute to the sum of forces with regular forces and reservists of the SAAF in the town of Dorida, near the border with the North, after receiving reports of the movement of troops and armored vehicles of the Turkish Amphibious Marine Brigade. Although the order is to hold positions, Russian forces will be granted permission to open fire if they are attacked.
