1. No more 1v1 Ranked
Ranked mode shifted from 1v1 to 2v2. Really good for players that yearned for the co-op experience but never fully enjoyed it due to everyone playing 1v1. However, you can still privately 1v1 other players.
2. Simultaneous 2v2
Both teammates play at the same time instead of each teammate playing individually.
3. You can see your teammate’s hand
A long requested 2v2 feature, seeing your teammate’s hand helps players strategize how both players play their turn. You have to enable this feature in the match.
4. You have to kill both players to win
That is a total of 70 damage. Killing one player does NOT remove the other player but it removes their hero power.
5. New Mechanic - Stamina
Stamina is a new mechanic which encourages strategic play.
  • Every creature starts with 2 stamina
  • At the start of each turn, your creatures gain +1 stamina
    Block Position:
  • 0 stamina creature or a creature with Sneak with any amount of stamina goes to the back
  • 1+ stamina creature or a creature with Alert with any amount of stamina goes to the front
  • When creatures block, they lose 1 stamina
    Stamina required to attack:
  • 3 for most creatures
  • 2 for creatures with Rush
6. Different Artifact Charge Icon

7. Balance Changes
Gumas, the Acid Dragon -> Cost 8
Norven, Gryff Rider -> Cost 7
Gravecrawler's Undead Arm -> Sneak
Necrophage -> 7/7
Spectral Roc -> 3/3 -> Shout: Your Hero gains: Summon an 1/1 Eagle Spirit with Rush in the beginning of the turn.
Mind Over Reality -> Cost 9
Phoenix -> Cost 5
Enrage -> Gives +2/+2.
8. Added the ability to add friends in 1 click in-game
You can add your teammates and enemies through Steam. Really nice communication tool.
9. No Season Account Wipe
Although this is a significant update, you will not lose any cards which you have to re-obtain. There are also no new cards.
10. Evolve your Hero
Hero will evolve as you play cards from their colors (ex. black hero play black cards)

  • Play 5 cards from the hero's color to level up.
  • Each Hero will have a counter showing the progress in match

Level 1: Basic Hero Power
Level 2: Upgraded Hero Power
Level 3: Even Better Hero Power
Level 4: A 1 Time Effect

Druvok (Black):
Level 1: "Summon a 1/1 Zombie with Sneak.",
Level 2: "Summon two 1/1 Zombie with Sneak.",
Level 3: "Summon two 1/1 Zombie with Sneak. All zombies have Rush this turn.",
Level 4: "Triggers: Put three random creatures from graveyard into play.",

Vincegast (Blue):

Level 1: "Summon a 0/1 Illusion Barrier.",
Level 2: "Summon two 0/1 Illusion Barriers.",
Level 3: "Summon two 0/1 Illusion Barriers. All players draw a card.",
Level 4: "Triggers: Return all enemies creature to their owner's hand.",

Ellarian (Green):

Level 1: "Restore 2 health to a character.",
Level 2: "Restore 4 health to a character.",
Level 3: "Restore 4 health to a character. Give +1/+1 to all allied creatures this turn.",
Level 4: "Triggers: Summon three Rhynos.",

Astrid (Red):

Level 1: "Deal 1 damage to a target.",
Level 2: "Deal 2 damage to a target.",
Level 3: "Deal 2 damage to a target. +2 Sorcery Power this turn.",
Level 4: "Triggers: Deal 10 damage to each enemy hero.",

Palden (White):

Level 1: "Give +1/+1 to a target creature.",
Level 2: "Give +2/+2 to a target creature.",
Level 3: "Give +2/+2 to a target creature. All creatures have Cleave this turn.",
Level 4: "Triggers: All allied creatures gain +3/+3.",

Hannar (Yellow):
Level 1: "Deal 2 damage to target enemy hero.",
Level 2: "Deal 4 damage to target enemy hero.",
Level 3: "Deal 4 damage to target enemy hero. Allied creatures cost 1 less mana this turn.",
Level 4: "Triggers: Deal 6 damage to 4 random enemies.",
