Give your American city the finishing touch with the American Commuter Trains!

The Modern EMU is a six-car train made up of Kawasaki M8 multiple unit cars, modeled and created specifically for Cities: Skylines! This prototype is inspired by the trains serving New York City, the Hudson River Valley, and Connecticut (Metro North), and is designed to match the Cities Skylines art style.

The Modern EMU includes a few firsts for the American Commuter Trains - it features full directional lighting (both head and taillights), as well as an accurate horn sound effect recorded from real Metro North equipment. Use the Vehicle Effects and Extra Vehicle Effects mods to get these great effects!

As with all other American Commuter Trains, the Modern EMU includes night lighting and line colors.

Capacity: ~600 people per train
Textures: 1024x main, 64x lod
Mesh: ~2000 tris/car

@koloskye what I do is I remove cars from the back of the train to make it only 4 or 2 cars and it will stay like that as long as you dont remove the "engine"

Any chance you could post a shorter version of this vehicle? Maybe two cars? I'm thinking of using it for a very rural build, but it's wayyy to big at this point. Great model. Thanks for sharing.

Very neat looking in-game! Say, what is that map theme there, the transitions between texture types is really well done.

Hey BSQ! I love your work, I was wondering if you would consider making a MOM version of this as it's the perfect fit for a modern light rail using the metro tracks. I only ask because i'm struggling to find a decent selection of elevated stations for things other than MOM.
