I ran into an issue where Leather shirt-slot items couldn't be crafted. I noticed that this was an issue with the mod that's since been fixed (Change notes say it was in 2022). Has anyone else encountered this issue since that change?
I've also read that what is supposed to happen is that special recruits with a non-Drifter faction (like Kang being part of the Shek Kingdom) are supposed to retain their original colors, which would also be true for any recruited through a recruitable prisoners mod. This would seem to imply that your game is actually working as intended. Ironically enough, mine changes all recruits' colors to my faction's default on save/reload, but retains previously dyed gear, so I have a short window of time to dye with the new recruit's faction colors if I want to. I actually wish my game worked the way yours does so I could easily have more variety without having to try to dye everything before I save and load. Sigh, Kenshi.
Have you tried equipping gear on the recruits again after saving and reloading? Do they still have their old colors then?
