Insurgency - Maschinenpistole 40 [AK]

"The MP 40 or Machinepistole 40, a German submachine gun and was designed by Henrich Vollmer. It was designed and produced in 1940 - 1945. It carries 32 rounds when equipped with detachable box magazine and 64 rounds with dual magazines. The MP 40 was heavily a processor to the MP 38 with simple modification and adjustments. It was given a nicknamed as "Schmeisser" by the Allies, named after Hugo Schmeisser the designer of the MP 18. The nickname is not given properly since Schmeisser was not involve with the design or development of the MP 40, however he held a patent on the magazine. The MP 40 is used in by platoon and squad leaders making a limited use in the German Army. After World War II ended, thousands of captured weapons (including the MP 40) were kept as war trophies or kept safe in the museums. In present time, some of the original variants or copies of the MP 40 are still used by rebels and guerrilla force from other countries in Africa and somewhere in the Middle East."
