Bossman Achievement and Easy 1-Ups

Level is Thy Farts Consumed

Basically what you do is collect the hidden stash of lives, exit the level, and do it again. After the first checkpoint use Mike to jump over the Skull Block on the very right of the room and just follow the path down.

You could argue farming lives defeats the purpose of playing an old school-like game, but if I'm being honest, I farmed those when I was a kid as well...

I did the same for TMNT

An old school method in mario to farm for extra lives was called turtle tipping. So Doing little tricks to gain extra lives or one-ups or power-ups, is old school-like gaming.

After you find the 2 cameos with 3 lives, fall down to the left and keep moving to the left until the ladder. Climb the ladder and you will find another 1-up. Press start, go back to the stage select, and start again.

If you want more than 3, rather than exiting it's better to just die. You restart at the checkpoint with 2 extra lives rather than 3, but it's faster to do it again.

farming extra lives, is exactly what you had to do in lots of old school nes games. i remember farming lives in some of the mario games. i remember farming energy tanks in megaman, farming the scroll weapons for every turtle in the original TMNT game...
