What is Star Wars: Battlecry?
This game is actually a mod being made on the prestiged Cry Engine 3. It has been in development for some time, and is being developed by a few dozen voulenteers on their own time without pay.

Star Wars: BattleCry is the free, standalone 'spiritual successor' to the popular and successful Star Wars: Battlefront series. We are doing what has failed to be done in over 8 years. We want to bring you the Battlefront experience. Being developed in CryEngine 3, we will be delivering a high quality game with modern visuals and exciting gameplay. We are dedicated to bringing you the Battlefront experience once again but with the possibility of all new game modes never before seen in the Battlefront series and seamless ground-to-space combat creating some of the biggest battles ever seen in a Star Wars game!

This most likely died, lasted a lot longer than Galaxy in Turmoil. I'm surprised that this one stayed up and that one was forced to rebrand into a.. failed game.

Promised too much, especially for a fangame that would be directly competing with EA. If not at its conception then down the line.

Kind of happy it was shut down, because the final product would just be unattainable for a fan project and do nothing but dissappoint.

Too bad about this mod. Loved the idea, didnt really "agree" with some of the visuals, but it was unfinished as well as fan made, which actually makes it pretty impressive. What a shame.
