Pagan Flavor

Beskrivelse
Version 2.0 - Hellenes Update

***To make this mod Ironman compatible simply delete the 'Common' folder - this will remove titles and nicknames***

This mod is an attempt to add significantly more flavor and immersion to pagan games through a number of localisation changes.

Features:

- New culturally and religiously appropriate localisation for a massive number of pagan-group theocratic titles and holding types. No more bland 'Priest' or 'Temple of...'.
- Improved text for pagan traits and events.
- 'African' religion is now thoroughly overhauled as 'A Tat Roog', a real Senegambian religion.
- Bon, Tengri and Zunism (now 'Zunyasna') extensively revamped.
- Flavorful honorary titles for several religions.

NEW! for 2020

- Complete localisation overhaul for Hellenic religion.
- Revamped localisation for Baltic, Finnish and Slavic religions.
- New religious nicknames.

Future plans:

- New events for honorary title holders, including Volva-inspired event chains for the Sibilla (Hellenic), Ya Bopa (A Tat Roog), Court Ngakpa (Bon), Court Bakhsi (Tengri) and Kunda-e Koor (Zunyasna).
- New Serer culture so that the actual practitioners of A Tat Roog are represented in-game.
- New religious societies.
- Implementation of Hellenic regnal titles (currently only useable via the console).

Known issues:

- When playing with HIP the reformed A Tat Roog religious leader is still showing as 'High Priest' instead of 'Yaal Laman' (or indeed, 'Grand Saltigue' as should have appeared in vanilla). I am unsure of the reason for this.
- The High God of the generic 'Paganism' religion will appear as 'Roog'. This is because it shares the GOD_THE_CREATOR designation with the African religion. I figured this probably wouldn't bother anyone.

Compatible with everything (no core files have been changed), recommended for use alongside the SWMH module of HIP (as well as the HIP Expanded Map mod to stop Tibet and West Africa from falling off the map).

If you don't like my approach to a particular religion, removing localisation is easy: delete the relevant section in the localisation file. It should also be fairly easy to remove honorary titles as they are not presently attached to any events, but be sure to remove the entry from both the minor titles file and the localisation file. Unsubscribing from the file on Steam will also stop it from updating and overwriting changes.

As well as help with issues, I am also very much open to corrections, suggestions, contributions and ideas.

This mod represents quite a few hours of research, so although I am very happy to share bits and pieces of this mod for use in other mods please do ask before you use it. I may even give you some of the stuff I didn't use.

See https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/mod-pagan-flavor.1196086/ for a more in-depth explanation of the rationale of this mod.

I hope you enjoy it - please leave a rating!

Does this require a new game? Or will it work with an existing save?

is this mod obsolete?

@Torrahcat I would recommend Elfangor567's mod for that: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=747202466&searchtext=holy+war

Could you add great holy war names?

@Star¤Dagger I just love how some people think only things they love should be in a game.

@OJS It should be compatible with everything. The worst that could possibly happen with regard to other mods is that they overwrite a title I have already overwritten.

@ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ Unfortunately that would require editing the Religion file, which would then make this incompatible with a lot of other mods. I don't know about CK2+, but HIP moves all Zunist holy lands to Iran and Central Asia which is a little more appropriate. However, as the Charlemagne bookmark no longer exists, you may have to use more creative methods to get a Zunist realm.
