Introduction
I love hunting for achievements, its a fun pastime for me and I love turn based games so here I am, unfortunately I didnt find a place where I could see all achievements and get my mind organized on how to tackle them all in the most efficient manner.

My main goal here is to organize all 104 achievements with all DLC enabled.

Saying that, I definitely suggest you leave stygian mode to the end, a final run on the most brutal of difficulties! but if you like pain, hey, you can go ahead and try to get it all done in one single run.

There is an achievement where you need to finish the darkest dungeon before week 100, its not that complicated but just to be safe, and to aid your sanity, aim for this on your radiant/normal strict run.

On stygian mode, to finish the darkest dungeon, you will need 4 teams of legendary heroes to tackle different phases of the raid, that's leveling up 16 different heroes. In other modes the same heroes can go back but will take a stress penalty, having different teams is suggested, this is so you can train for stygian mode.

Mods do not disable achievements, as far as I know, I used mods to quicken the battle animations and they have unlocked just fine for me.

I also strongly recommend you make use of the backer benefits if you are trying to tackle Stygian.

That said, this game is a challenge and I wish you the best of success.

So here we go!

Edit: Thank you for the awards! 🙂😁✔✨😀🎁🙂
Difficulty Achievements
Good news, you can unlock all three difficulty achievements when you finish the game in the hardest difficulty. Bad news, its gonna be very painful to finish the game in the hardest difficulty.

The DLC doesnt have any difficulty achievements, so thats a small kindness. I really suggest going for the Stygian achievement on vanilla mode.

You can read more about the advantages/disadvantages of difficulty here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Game_Modes

Entry Level
Complete the game on Radiant

Strict Mode
Complete the game with default difficulty options

*This is not completing the game on normal, it is completing the game without disabling any gameplay options (like disabling enemy reinforcements)

World End
Complete the game on Stygian

Stygian might delete your savefile under the right conditions, go ahead and read up on that in the link above before committing to it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjqwTiIxwmg
Storyline Achievements
These achievements will naturally unlock as you complete the vanilla game, bosses achievements from DLC storylines will be recorded at the Kill section instead.

To finish the game you need to level up several teams of heroes, there is not a specific path you need to take, except going into the darkest dungeon, of course.

Welcome home...
Reach the Estate

Victory, such as it is...
Complete the game

Flair reports that you need to complete the game on at least Darkest Difficulty.
Time related Achievements

The end of the first year...
Reach week 52

In such haste...
Complete the game within 99 Weeks

Two years of this...
Reach week 104

People are not sure what are the special conditions to advance the week, some say you need to finish a battle before retreating and others say you need to explore at least 25% of the dungeon.

What I had to do was to get two heroes from the stagecoach and send them into the Darkest Dungeon, fight a battle, retreat from battle then retreat from the dungeon.

One of them would die but It worked.

So yeah, do that if you are having troubles advancing time.
Kill Achievements
These require you to kill an specific number of a certain kind of monster or Boss, some boss kills must be met under very specific conditions.

Monsters

And we slew the men who were wicked...
Defeat 100 Human enemies

And we slew the abominations that haunteth...
Defeat 100 Unholy enemies

And we slew the beasts that creepeth...
Defeat 100 Beast enemies

And we slew the evils that lurketh...
Defeat 100 Eldritch enemies

The fiends must be driven back...
Slay 1000 enemies

A terrifying figure emerged from the darkness...
Slay a Shambler

Activating a Shambler's Altar with a torch will lead you to fight this boss.
Read more here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Shambler

Four on the Floor
Kill Squiffy Ghast, Swine Skiver, Bone Bearer and Hateful Virago

You have to kill these type of enemies which can be found in different dungeons.
Bone Bearer: Ruins
Swine Skiver: Warrens
Hateful Virago: Weald
Squiffy Ghast: Cove (See achievement below)

Mine Goes to 11
Kill a Squiffy Ghast with a Jester

Squiffy Ghasts can be found in the Cove, they are the ghosts with the Fiddle.

Bosses

The first evil to fall...
Slay your first boss

Lone survivor
Kill any boss with only one hero remaining

This achievement will unlock once a sole survivor comes back from a successful raid on a dungeon boss, in theory you could kill the boss with more than one party member but then you would need to kill all others except one before going back to town.
-----------------------------------------------
Once you have at least a party of heroes level 5 or above, a random event in town will appear with one of the two following bosses at the end. Be ready!

Murder of Crows
Kill the Shrieker

The Shrieker will escape after the end of round 4, he has high dodge, buff up your ACC or debuff his dodge rating somehow if you want to kill it.
You can read more about this boss here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/The_Shrieker
OneWingedDevil comments:
"The Murder of Crows achievement will be gained even if the Shrieker escapes, it doesn't need to be killed before the end of the fourth round."

In Sheep's Clothing
Defeat the brigand Vvulf

You can read more about Vvulf here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Vvulf

Driven from this land...
Kill all bosses

You can read more here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Boss

You can also see a list of bosses from the Caretaker Goals, if you have DLCs activated, you need to kill those bosses too for the achievement to unlock. So you will get this as you try and get the caretaker achievement.

Dysfunction
Kill any boss with a party of four afflicted heroes

The achievement will pop after you defeat the boss, needless to say you need to have all four alive until the end with an affliction. The Necromancer Apprentice is a good boss for this since his attacks raise stress pretty quickly.

Kill Achievements (DLC)
****Color of Madness Kill Achievements****
In the farmstead, its an endless battle mode, you can try the mode as early as you finish the first ruin's quest. Read more here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Farmstead

The following Kill achievements refer to doing those number of kills in ONE single run, think of it as a high score.

This Is Nothing
Get 100 Kills

A Hollow Reckoning
Get 200 Kills

Ashes To Ashes
Get 300 Kills

It will take at least three hours to rack up these number of kills, around 30 battle areas not counting boss fights. After you get your 200 kill, a new mode on top of the farmstead torch effects will aplly, making it harder to move forward. Stress is your biggest enemy here.

Time Is A Flat Circle
Kill the Sleeper's Herald With a Riposte

****Crimson Court Boss Achievements****

Zealous Accusation
Defeat the Fanatic

You will get a notice that tells you the Fanatic will stalk your cursed heroes, from that point on you will have a chance of the Fanatic to spawn in a dungeon whenever you use cursed heroes on your team. If the Fanatic comes, the game will tell you as you start the dungeon. For best chances of encountering him, have 4 cursed heroes in the same party and enter a champion level non-boss vanilla dungeon.

--- Courtyard Bosses ---

All the missions to kill these bosses have the same static maps and the most dangerous thing is dying from hunger/wasting while looking for keys and the way forward.

The wiki has maps you can use to make your life easier, check them out at the end of this page here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Courtyard

Les Jeux Sont Faits
Defeat the Baron

Just the Cheque
Defeat the Viscount

Her Last Dance
Defeat the Countess

****Color of Madness Bosses ****

A Merciful Act
Defeat the Miller

A Poor Harvest
All 4 Heroes Dodge the Miller's Reaping

The Miller has high ACC so you either need a team with high dodge or try to debuff his ACC, this achievement would be best tackled with a Legendary team. The Man-At-Arms Dodge Buff can be triggered several times using Shard Dusts and the Antiquarian Dodge Buff can stack up to 3 times.

Beyond The Infinite
Defeat the Sleeper

In The Mouth of Madness
Defeat the Sleeper With 2 Afflicted, 2 Virtuous Heroes

There are trinkets that can help you skew the virtue chance, have these in your provision invetory right before turning mad from stress to give you control over this achievement. You can switch trinkets on and off by switching them from the inventory into your character's equipment.

You will need to defeat the sleeper a lot of times since you need 10 memories to build the Mill for another achievement so dont worry if you dont get it at first.

There Are No Words
Defeat the Thing From The Stars

Random Boss in some dungeons that have the Thing displayed at the stage select.

Rogues Gallery
Fight Every Wondering Boss in Endless

As you play endless mode, after defeating the sleeper you will enter wonderous mode where you will encounter different bosses in the game, in my experience I didnt have to kill every wondering boss since some people reported bosses I didnt kill but It still unlocked for me.

Glimmer has a great observation which I think is the way to unlock this:
"Rogues Gallery seems to be awarded for killing Shambler, Collector, Shrieker and TFBTS across multiple runs. Mind the name of the achievement."

If you think about it, those are all wAndering bosses which you can find in wOndorous areas.

These trolling devs.. haha

What is already Dead Cannot Die
Have a character survive 5 attacks at Death's Door in a single combat

This is trickier than it looks, you cannot heal someone at Death's Door but rely on their Death Blow Resistance so they can survive five attacks in a single battle some trinkets can help with this.
I personally unlocked this with a team of three man-at-arms and a healer, they all died in the end, but hey! I got this achievement :)

Remember that having a heart attack while at death's door will always result in death, so be careful managing your stress levels. The Death blow resistance caps at 87% so no matter what you do, you will always have 13% chance of dying.

Heroes die and you get some achievements for it.

The first of many has fallen...
Lose your first hero

A sobering visit with the departed...
Visit the Graveyard

The stresses were unbearable...
Lose your first hero to heart attack

When the stress is too much for a crazed hero.

You can do the following two achievements at once:

No retreat, no quarter...
First party wipe

More blood soaks the soil...
Party wipe on a boss

We all return to dust...
Lose a Legendary (Level 6) hero

Valiant sacrifice...
Lose all four heroes on a Darkest Dungeon quest

Hero special Deaths

The following death achievements are triggered when you fail a death blow roll while doing the action the achievement is linked to. The Base chance to fail a Death Blow roll is 33% but you can increase this chance by using trinkets that lower your resistance so you are more likely to die to damage instead of a rolling a save and surviving.

Gnawing hunger sets in...
Lose a hero to hunger

Blocked from life...
Lose a hero to an obstacle

Watch your step...
Lose a hero to a trap

We return to the worms of the earth...
Lose a hero to a Maggot

Maggots are one of the easiest enemies in the game, so just patient and get wailed by one until one of your heroes dies.

That'll do, pig...
Lose a hero to Wilbur

https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Wilbur

He does pitiful damage so you need someone weak to die from his attacks like your healer...
Wilbur remains alive after you kill the swine prince, so go ahead and kill the monstrosity and then setup your weak character to take the fall.

You can encounter the Swine Prince and Wilbur in the Farmstead's endless mode.

****Crimson Court****

Expired
Lose a hero to Wasting Away from the Curse

****Color of Madness****

Pipe Dream
Lose a Hero Equipped with the Miller's Pipe

Rainbow's End
Lose a Hero Equipped with the Coat of Many Colors

The Blinders Are Lifted
Gain the Refracted Affliction

After you lose a hero in the Farmstead, he might come back with this... affliction, its also a random type of affliction as you go mad from stress in other normal dungeons.

Just to be clear, you can also get these achievements at the same time by failing the darkest dungeon:
The stress is unbearable
The first of many has fallen
Body and sacrifice
No retreat no quarter

Sentimental relics from our forefathers...
Acquire all your Ancestor's Trinkets

Notes from SirBatmanOfficial
To Do to get Sentimental relics from our forefathers Achievement

Fully Complete 9 long champion dungeons (level 5) = 9 trinkets
Kill Shambler's 5 times via shambler altar (can be done on level 1 dungeons as well) = 5 trinkets
and Complete 1st darkest dungeon quest (Level 6) --> 1 trinket

*Now for people who already have all 14 ancestral trinkets, and don't play with mod's and they decide to do the first mission of the last mission darkest dungeon, I don't know if it will give it to them but I'm assuming it will - since on the wiki it say if you have all 14th when killing the shufffling horror it will give you some gem's as reward.

Happy Together
Collect your first Trinket Set (Crimson Curse DLC)

Shards Well Spent
Collect All of Color of Madness Trinkets

If you didnt notice, there is another trinket seller in the caravan, the button to switch it is to the bottom left. You will need around 2000 crystals.

I really didnt count but I know I got at least 1200 from killing the Sleeper ten times, around 120 crystals on each run. Buy the trinkets that give you extra crystals first, wearing both trinkets will give you 35% more crystals and I read somewhere that Antiquarians boost you for an extra 15%.
Other Achievements
Not found in the other sections

Caretaker
Complete all Caretaker Goals

Click on the scroll icon on the bottom right to bring up the Activity Log along with the Caretaker's goals. Most of these goals involve killing bosses or leveling a specific class to Level 6.

An Unexpected Party
Collect The Invitation

You can get the invitation from defeating an enemy called the gatekeeper that is found in encounters from curio pods or battles found in other dungeons when the infestation gets high enough for them to spawn outside the Courtyard.

Symptoms
Get infected by the Crimson Curse

What Strange Bedfellows
Contract the Crimson Curse via contagion

To better your chances, just fill a building with cursed people and put a healthy one in, by the next week he will probably be curse and you'll get this achievement.

Shadows Blur Together
Kill an ally while under the Curse

I loved this guide, you should read it for this achievement:
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1123693730

Blood Cult
Have your entire roster affected by the crimson curse

After you are done with the game, reduce your roster by firing heroes until you have only infected ones, you can also infect heroes with other heroes if they are being treated in the same facility.

The Flesh is Willing
Recruit a flagellant

The Town's Crier will give you some good news and the game will give you a Flagellant. Drag and Drop the Flagellant from the News Scroll into your roster, make sure you have space for him, you can also find this class randomly in the stagecoach as the game progresses.

Jailbreak
Rescue someone

In the courtyard, you might find a secret room and instead of a treasure chest, there is a leveled up hero there, interact with him and you will unlock this achievement and get the hero back in town.

Tears Lost In The Dust
Acquire Mildred's Locket Trinket

You find the Locket in the Farmstead as a random curio between waves, its random so you will probably find it after you defeat the Miller and go into Endless mode.

Blue Skies Ahead
Use The Shard Dust Provision

You can buy the Shard Dust provision from the get-go in the Color of Madness DLC but you need to find 3 shards first, that's what it costs.

Lining the Jeweller's Pockets
Earn 200 Shards In One Endless Run

After defeating the Miller, endless mode will unlock, if you get lucky you can get a 100% shard reward town event that will make this one easier. Just play endless until at least you get a Wonderous reward, it will take several battles and hours.

You can read up on strategy here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Farmstead

You should try going for this one along the 300 kills achievement.

Plowshares To Swords
Reach Death's Door From Farmhand's Riposte

You will need to be fighting a farmstead enemy called foreman, he is usually the boss at the first mark in the run, these dudes give farmhands riposte, simply attack a farmhand with riposte enough so your HP reaches Zero, the riposte will do between 1 and 2 damage so it will be somewhat tricky.
Butcher Circus Achievements
You can get most achievements in the tutorial battle, dueling with a friend or ranked matches.

So, until someone says they patched it out, you can do get most of these done quick if you do it against the tutorial or a friend.

The only one you cant do against the tutorial is the one to kill one of each class.

Flair reports that you can get achievements from single player in Butcher's Circus, so if you still need some of those, you could kill two birds with one stone.

Play/Win Matches

Fresh Meat
Play your first match in the Butcher's Circus

Mono et Mono
Win a match in the dueling grounds

The dueling grounds is outside the circus, its where you can issue a challenge to someone in your friends list. Win a match against a friend to get this. You can surrender and your friend should get this.

Shouting Match
Win a match using ONLY stress against your enemies

You must NOT do any damage to your enemies, stress only.
There are a few attacks that are -100% DMG and give stress.

I used RyoKami's build as written in this thread (steam thread).

The Party:
Plague doctor - blinding gas/disorienting blast
Vestal for healsies
Man at Arms - Bellow
Hellion - Terrifying Yawp!"

You can equip trinkets that increase stress, it helps.

I got it against the tutorial party, no problems, here is a video on how I did it, took me around 20 minutes. [Wish there was an option to speed up battles]
https://youtu.be/Qc4vRLoLyYE

Naked and Unafraid
Win a match without using any trinkets

Blood Soaks the Sand
Win 100 matches in the Butcher's Circus

Flawless Execution
Win any 10 matches without losing any heroes

You can boost with a friend by surrendering, surrendering counts as a flawless win (for the team that didnt surrender, ofc)

Special Conditions in a single Match

One and Done
Kill an enemy hero in the first round of a match

Easy with some luck and if you use the Gravedigger and the Bounty Hunter in your team along with two heavy hitters, the GD and BH have attacks that can reduce the enemy resistance against deathblows, so soften them up with your heavy hitters first then finish them off with GD or BH.

If you win the coin toss, they will get a dodge buff, so, its best if you lose it.

The trinket "The Finisher" should be equipped on your GD and BH if possible.
In my video, I should have gone for the enemy Bounty Hunter instead of the Musketeer but it worked out in the end :3
https://youtu.be/ZP1FjfCVdos

Scare Tactics
Cause an enemy hero to have a heart attack

Devil's Luck
Have a hero survive 5 death's door checks in a single match

Harder than it looks, again, you need to survive death doors.

Again the flagellant is the best for this, with these trinkets you can get him up to 95% but I think its actually 100% because I remember my final check was 40% (100, 85. 70, 55, 40) Every check will lower the chance by 15%.

You can get the Ankh on L16 Prestige but the collar is a L66 Trinket.
You can replace that with the L4 gambeson, but it only gives +4%.

Flaggelant Skill [Suffer] also gives him +10% Deathblow resist.

Beware enemies that have skills that upgrade their chance to deal a Deathblow on you, specially the Bounty Hunter, take them out fast and leave the ones that dont have bonuses.

AerinSwift points out that the Antiquarian skill Take Cover, gives her a +20% Deathblow Resistance and it stacks, giving you a +60% Resistance overall, she might be even better than a Flagellant for this.

At the end of the day, its all about your luck, you can only tweak it as much as you can.

MVP
Have a single hero deal deathblows to 4 enemies in a single match

Pacemaker
Have a single hero survive 4 heart attacks in a single match

Special Conditions through multiple matches

Bright Lights
Daze 10 enemies in the Butcher's Circus

Taking All Challengers
Kill each hero class in the Butcher's Circus

You can do this in Duel mode but you need to deal the killing blow to each class, surrendering doesnt work and if one dies of a heart attack, it should count. (Thanks to GIN-0433 for the confirmation that heart attacks work.)

You need to kill the DLC classes, the shieldbreaker, flagellant and musketeer.
I got it with all Deathblows, including killing a Shieldbreaker in a ranked match and the Musketeer from the tutorial.

Be Still My Heart!
Cause 150 heart attacks in the Butcher's Circus

Your opponent surrendering does not count as giving them heart attacks.

You will need a stress oriented party, the one you can use for the achievement Shouting Match is a good option, you can read that guide for more info.

Other good classes for stress are the Houndmaster, the Jester, the Abomination, etc.
You can read more about it here: https://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Butcher%27s_Circus#Stress_Damage

Blood Flood
Kill 600 enemies in the Butcher's Circus

Like the achievement above, your opponent surrendering does not count for this, even heart attacks doing it the legit way might not count either, deathblows only but its not 100% confirmed.

PandaCat reports (s)he thinks all deaths, including surrendering counts but In my own experience getting it, Im not sure, I do feel like death by heart attack does count, as I know I got it before I achieved 600 deathblows but after I did the cause 150 heart attacks and won 100 matches by surrendering to a friend.

Crowd Pleaser
Reach the max Prestige level in the Butcher's Circus

There are 75 prestige levels rewards, each level takes more and more points and it gets pretty awful, around level 70, you will need at least 10 wins or more to rank up, just for reference, you need 230 points to level from 74 to 75.

You can get 15 points on a match with a flawless victory.

in order to get all the ancestor's trinkets you need to:
1) defeat the shambler at least 4 times
2) defeat the shuffling horror

those give you 5 trinkets that can only drop from shamblers and the shuffling horror. if you kill the shambler 5 times the shuffling horror won't give you a trinket. you have to fight the shuffling horror anyway to win the game so no sense looking for a fifth shambler.

you can get the other ancestor's trinkets from:
3) treasure rooms in the darkest dungeon
4) treasure rooms in wolves at the door
5) long champion quests

for your last ancestor trinket you MUST do a long champion quest. when I was 1 short the treasure room in the 3rd darkest dungeon only gave me some gold. but you can get all the others from the treasure rooms.

wolves at the door is particularly fruitful as it has 3 treasure rooms and the brigands in it are significantly weaker than mobs in the darkest dungeon and on champion quests.

paszczureKk 22 Dec, 2022 @ 6:09am
Hi! [just a quick tip about cicus achievement]
I wanted to drop a little clarification on the killing count matter.
You can actually track your progress in the file named persist.mp_progression located in the steam files.
Regular killis and killing by heart attack does count. Surrendering does not increase your kill score. What interesting, it seems that bodies left by enemies are counted seperately. It means you can score up to 7 kills per round. You can left them on the area and they're counted even if automatically removed after last enemy dies.
Takku 14 Nov, 2022 @ 2:12am
btw it's not necessary to complete a battle in the darkest dungeon location in order to advance a week, and you can only send in a single hero rather than two, because if you only send one he won't die. sending a second hero is pointless although it probably doesn't matter that much if you just kill off fresh recruits for this purpose.
however, doing a battle is a waste of time, as you can simply retreat right away.

Thanks GIN! I added the thing and credited you, cheers mate!
GIN-0433 22 Aug, 2022 @ 1:50pm
I confirmed that heart attack in butcher circus count as regular killing, cause I just unlocked the Taking All Challenger by killing a Leper with my friend, while I only use heart attack team before:deadweight:
