Adds Mali to the base game.

~~~
The Brave New World version can be found here here: Mali (Brave New World).
~~~

Note:
- This civilization requires the Gods and Kings expansion.
- Updates to the Mod will most likely break save games. Please do not update until you are ready to begin a new game.
- Mali and Songhai share about 5 city names. If both are in the game, whichever civ builds the city first gets the city name, otherwise the name is skipped in the list.
- This mod overwrites the CityView.lua and CivilopediaScreen.lua game files. This is done in order to make the dummy UA buildings invisible and is purely aesthetic. However, it will cause compatibility problems with other mods which also overwrite these files (not counting any of my other mods as they use the same edits). To disable this, simply delete the Dummy Building Folder folder (and the four files within).
- This civilization will also be included in the Zambezi mega-mod which focuses on adding civ representation to Africa as well as African scenarios, religions, and wonders. Do no use the stand alone version of the mod at the same time as the Zambezi mod (v.2 and up).

Leader: Mansa Musa

UA: Royal Hajj: Cities connected with a Trade Route generate +1 Faith. Great Prophets may visit* a friendly foreign Holy City to generate a one-time Gold bonus (this does not consume the Unit).

UU: Sofa: Replaces Crossbowman. Starts with the Medic promotion. May move after attacking. +1 Defensive Combat Strength. (-2 Ranged Combat Strength).

UB: Treasury: Replaces Mint. +2 Gold. +2 Gold on Salt. May also be built near Salt.

*(the Unit ends its turn on an adjacent tile to)

If you have BNW you should always use the BNW version (not just with my mods but almost all authors). BNW was the last expansion and includes all the mechanics of GK, so mods made for BNW are usually more up to date and utilize mechanics only found in the final game.

Is There Any Major Difference Between The Brave New World Version And The Gods And Kings Version? I Have Both Expansions And I'm Wondering Which Version To Get.

The BNW version does. I haven't been able to update the GK version to do so as GK version of the modbuddy files are on a different computer at the moment. It will still work with Ekmeks leader scene, though, you just need to download it off civfanatics.

Sounds good! And, does this use the 3D Mansa Musa by Ekmek?

I'm sure in the developers eyes Songhai was meant to be the Mali replacement. They have similiar representation in that one conquered the other so they cover a lot of the same geography. However, Songhai and Mali were two completely seperate empires centered on two different ethnic groups. The overlap is really no more than a lot of the included European civs, and I felt civ could use some more African representation.

Isn't Songhai supposed to represent Mali? Just out of curiosity.
Good mod though.

Civ 5 needs it back for real. Looks cool. Just remembered that the Mali most likely beat Columbus to the New world. Mansa Musa's Predecessor went with a fleet of like 300 ships that allegedly sailed to South America.
