Here's how to fix low volume problem on Windows 7. Other has reported this works on Windows 8 as well.

Problem.

Your Resident Evil volume settings in-game have been all maxed out, but the sound output be it from speakers or headset is low, despite it's all also maxed out too.

How to fix.

If you're experiencing the issue mentioned in 'background' section, here's the steps to rectify it.

1. Right click volume icon in your systray. Playback devices.

2. Right click on your default device, properties. In my case it is Realtek.
Note: Maybe this only affects Realtek user. Please report your soundcard model if you experience the issue, have different model and have the same problem.

3. Click tab 'Enhancements'.
4. Loudness Equalization must be ticked.

Restart your Resident Evil and re-test the issue - see if it works.

Equalizer set to Powerful helps too.

Sadly, this doesn't work for me. The volume is still low.

Yep thanks, fixed the sound for me too.
Does this fix also work for the Dead Risings?
Off the Record isn't that low but Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 3 volume is really low, guess i'll check and see.

Any else experiencing issues where NPC voices can't be heard unless you happen to be looking in their direction. Think it might be a surround sound bug left over from the console version.
