Preface
Add illumination for the rear number plate to ensure its visibility in the nighttime. To do so, create a special texture and modify the car model.
1. Creating texture — light masks
A light mask will be used to simulate illumination. Texture and a new shader will be used. Illumination intensity depends on color: the whiter the color, the brighter the illumination. Black means that there is no illumination at all.

The following mask is used:

Texture of a small size: 256 × 128 is sufficient; the TGA image format is used.
2. Model refinement
Open carLod0 and select StandardNebula2 to create a new material:

Select Highlighted Luminescent in the shader list:

Set our mask to the slot Highlighted Map:

The material is ready. Set it to the required object.

To provide illumination for the rear number plate alone, select the object license_plate, enter the sub-object level Element, select the rear number plate and set the new material to it:

Done! Now the number plate on your car will be visible even at night.
