Yea, I played Half-Life. Although by the time I got around to playing it, it was already 10+ years old, making it extrememly dated. I did give it a good fighting chance, playing 34 hours, but I just can't see it as an amazing game. It really just came down to personal preference. Yes, Half-Life is way bigger compared to Portal (although both are huge series), but I just happen to prefer Portal. Going to Saints Row, luckily I already own Saints Row 2 and I look foward to playing it, but I simply haven't got around to playing it. Just give me time, I'll get around to playing it.
