If it didn't work due to launching it in LHD, that's probably why - it was built as a RHD map. Works no problem in RHD as far as I know.
Do note that the small roundabout that just pokes into the start square isn't actually connected to the highway at the beginning - it's there to be connected later on, and to help people get up the big hill after buying a couple more tiles. Your initial build into the start square needs to come off the medium road that ends near the train track, as that's the one directly connected to the highway.
The map wasn't built as left-hand drive (despite being partly inspired by the UK!)...if you do switch that around, make sure the roundabouts don't all go backwards! :)
