Heron Point

Beschreibung
Heron Point is a temperate rural coast map, with a landscape loosely inspired by parts of Wales and Cornwall. It's centred around a fertile valley with forested hills, sloping gently to a large expanse of headland and several smaller islands.

THEME/LUT
CONNECTIONS
  • Road - 3/4
  • Train - 2/4
  • Ship - 4/4
  • Plane - 2/4

REQUIRED ITEMS
  • The trees/grasses listed are all low tri/low poly assets from Pdelmo and other RAM-conscious creators! They run far better than vanilla trees on my average PC (Ryzen 5, GTX 1060).
  • There are only 100k trees used, so plenty of scope to add more if you like.
  • You only need the smaller version of the 'Mountain Grass MASSIVE PATCH', but you get both when you subscribe. You can delete/disable the bigger one in your content manager if you don't want it.
  • Network Extensions 2 is needed for non-vanilla one-way roads at roundabouts.
  • I don't think you need any particular DLC D'oh! You need Green Cities for the eco water outlets. (Thanks BonBonB!) I've used (literally) one or two very small After Dark/Parklife props for detailing, e.g. the Riding Stable Fence, a picnic table etc, but you shouldn't notice if you don't have them.

START SQUARE
  • Features a sewage drain pool using vanilla quays and a water spawn point below sea level. 5 x Eco Water Outlets in the old vanilla factory empty into the pool (see screenshot).
  • These outlets can be connected up within the start square right from the beginning of the game (they're already powered).
  • I've done this because it's an oceanic map with no outbound river, and I don't like pollution hanging around the coast. If you don't want to use them, don't connect them and they'll remain purely decorative. You can then throw all your poop straight in the sea like a gross lunatic. :)

Its okay i tweaked the starting roundabout to make the connections work. Works perfectly now! Great map by the way and im really enjoying my save :)

@MattAnstey7 - ah wait, I think I see what you're saying...you changed it to LHD *before* starting? Yeah that might conceivably mess it up, because you'd need to make sure you'd also changed all the one-ways and roundabouts to go the other way, which you wouldn't necessarily have access to unless you start with everything unlocked.

If it didn't work due to launching it in LHD, that's probably why - it was built as a RHD map. Works no problem in RHD as far as I know.

@MattAnstey7 I haven't had that problem at all - started a few builds on this map and it's never happened to me, plenty of traffic from the beginning.

Do note that the small roundabout that just pokes into the start square isn't actually connected to the highway at the beginning - it's there to be connected later on, and to help people get up the big hill after buying a couple more tiles. Your initial build into the start square needs to come off the medium road that ends near the train track, as that's the one directly connected to the highway.

The map wasn't built as left-hand drive (despite being partly inspired by the UK!)...if you do switch that around, make sure the roundabouts don't all go backwards! :)

Seems like that is the reason. Few tweaks and the traffic came flowing in!

I seem to have no traffic coming through? I have changed it to left hand drive. Does that make a difference?

@Hendrik Thanks buddy! :) Welp, no idea how it'll stand up to that level of scrutiny, hehe...still, I've been very happy with it for my own savegame so far, nothing problematic has jumped out yet. Cheers!
