https://steamproxy.net/workshop/filedetails/?id=1754405903

OVERRIDE CODE FOR LOCKS: 8924

The Gryphon features:

- Two Autopilot Modes (Single Point and Flight Plan) with 9 Waypoint Memory Slots
- Altitude and Speed Holds
- 360 Degree Searchlight system which uses two separate searchlights.
- Firefighting System with Internal Water Tank and deployable filler hose with pump
- Cargo Ramp and Cargo Bay with 2 Triage Beds, Scuba and Dive Gear, Deployable Hoist with Accessories (Mag, Double Harness)
- Underslung Lifting Bar with 3 Mags and 2 Connectors
- 12000 Units of Fuel between two Jet Turbines

Important Controls Summary:
In the Bottom Centre Console there is a Mode "switch" which sets the base range for the requested Main Rotor RPS. There is a set of PIDs that control the RPS for the Jet Combustion Chambers in order to achieve the requested Main Rotor RPS. The are 4 settings on the Switch:
MODE1: Shutdown: Main Rotor RPS Requested = 0
MODE2: Ground Idle: 20 - 30 RPS, Used to start the rotor blades spinning and to provide enough RPS to provide positive returns from the onboard Electrical Generators. Can also be used for slow taxing on the Ground. Designed not to give enough lift to get airborne.
MODE3: Flight Idle: 50-65 RPS - Switch to this mode to get the RPS required to get airborne. Defaults to 60 RPS, ideal RPS for Flight.
MODE4: Max Power: 65 RPS - 80 RPS - Not entirely practical for regular operations but if you want to try something "crazy" like lifting a tanker will provide more power

Once you select the mode there are arrow keys just below the Mode Switch which allow you to go up and down in Requested RPS range.

Starting the Engines and getting Airborne:
- Switch from Shutdown to Ground Idle Mode
- Above the Pilot in the centre are two keys: One for the Port Jet Turbine, One for the SB Jet Turbine. Turn them to open the Jet Fuel Lines and to activate the automated Starter system. The Engines will automatically use electrical motors to get the Jets to turn over and will also shutdown the Compressors once adequate RPS is achieved.
- Once the Main Rotors gets to about 10 RPS you can remove the Wheel Brakes (Flip Switch Centre Console) to allow for ground rolling. To move forward you can Pitch Forward and/or used the Ducted Assist Motors (Throttle to the right of the centre line to push forward). The forward landing gear is slaved to Yaw and can be used for steering on the ground.
- Once you are out of the hangar and ready to get airborne switch from Ground Idle to Flight Idle. It will quickly ramp up the Main Rotor RPS. Once the main rotor is above 40 RPS you can manually use the Collective (UP and Down Arrows) to gain altitude or Use the Hold Altitude System. Turn HA on by hitting the button (Front Centre Left) and then use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to change your requested Altitude.

FLIGHT CONTROLS: Helicopter is controllable from both the PILOT and FLIGHT ENGINEER chairs at exactly the same time. Input in one chair is added to input from the other chair.

W/S - Pitch Forward/Backwards
A/D - Roll
ARROW KEYS Left/Right - Yaw
ARROW KEYS Up/Down - Collective
1 Key - WHEN HOLD ALT or AP ON - Increase Requested Altitude
2 Key - WHEN HOLD ALT or AP ON - Decrease Requested Altitude
3 Key - WHEN HOLD SPEED or AP ON - Increase Requested Speed
4 Key - WHEN HOLD SPEED or AP ON - Decrease Requested Speed
5 Key - Ducted Assist Throttle Increase
6 Key - Ducted Assist Throttle Decrease

NOTE: When HOLD SPEED or AP are ON the value sent from the Ducted Assist Throttle will be overiden. Be careful that when you turn off AP or HOLD SPEED that the throttle value will then kick in again. My advice: only use the Ducted Assist Throttle when you are on the ground to assist with Taxing. When in air use HOLD SPEED to control the Ducted Assist.

AUTOPILOT:
SINGLE POINT:
Using the WP Entry Keyboard and Keypad - Enter the GPS X/Y and the Desired Altitude you wish to have at your Destination. Hit the Submit button to save it to one of the 9 Waypoint Slots. Once the system determines a WP has been submitted for the Active Slot Number you can Engage the AP and the Helicopter will do the rest. The system is designed to transit at 50 m/s and then come to a stop at your destination. During the trip the helicopter will progressively alter it's altitude so that you arrive at the Desired Altitude. Once the system determines it is within 5 metres of the destination it will automatically turn off AP and hover at the location.

FLIGHT PLAN:
With Flight Plan the helicopter will automatically fly from WP to WP in sequence until it reaches a WP set as "Last Leg". Once the chopper reaches the WP on the Last Leg it will come to a stop and shut off AP. Please see "Change Notes' for more details. (Video and guide planned).

More Details to come as time allows.

The new update rendered them completely useless, you now have to use antennae to transmit info.

Thanks, Atlas. Apologies for the delay. My wife is away for the week, we've got a new puppy and I've got to rebuild a deck in the backyard. I really could use a nap right now but the puppy is wacking my leg with his ball. God help me. :)

Looking forward to the MK2 Gryphon. Btw, the outside row rails in the cargo bay would benefit from some elongating, just pointing that out 'cause it probably is a 30-second fix

/thumbsup Looking forward to seeing it:) Just as a headsup that I'm working on a MK2 version of the Gryphon right now that is basically the MK1 with some new instrumentation, new camera features and some additional radio options. Hope to have it on the Workshop shortly. Anything that you build for the MK1 rails and hookups will still work in the MK2 and it will fly the same. I opted for a new version as I didn't want to screw anyone up who may be used to the controls on the MK1. Once the MK2 is out they can then give it a try and choose to move up if they wish. I may also look at putting an external hardpoint for fuel pods.
