Don't know what to tell you man, just tried it out in my game again and it worked fine. Have you used Crowbar and used overridematerials before? You sure you decompiled, edited, and recompiled the file correctly?

Chardee MacDennis, I tried your method. It didn't work. I tried following your instructions, and it wouldn't work. Not even once.

Here is the fix for the model being see through:

You need to decomplie the model using Crowbar, then in the QC file for the model add "$ambientboost" and "$mostlyopaque"

That will make the model no longer translucent. However, if you want to make just the glass translucent, then after spawning the model in, add material override to the model. Then in the element viewer select "glass" and then add a float named $alpha. For the value next to $alpha, set it at 0.25.

All done, now the model is no longer see through except for the glass.
