just open game to friends and name your world, then have them start their game and enter that world, make sure u are in same region if its not working and spell the name the same.

Both Players must "Open Game to Friends" via the menu, this will ask you to name your session. Both players must choose a different name for their session, but the naming is irrelevant. After both players are "open", one can then join the other via steam overlay.

just get to after the first time you sleep in a bed. then you can press escape and hit create lobby

It worked when I invited a friend to join my game but it wont let me join his game for some reason

It worked for me and a friend. We had to mess around but then he just Joined through steam and that worked
