What's This?
A quick simple lighting tutorial that will blow your brain
This is the lighting style i use to make most of my posters

(Note : This lighting style works well with cartoon-ish chracters tf2,overwatch,fortnite,etc)

Examples

wow exciting

A Good Shadow
I'm not going to explain how to make your shadow looks great, there're hundred of guides out there that explained it, look it up yourself

Let's get started
- Fist pose a model of your choice
Here we have Engineer giving a thumbs up, Woah

-Spawn a light
There're a lot to choose but we'll be only using "Projected light (new)"

Right click the light to edit it
Fist change the texture to "effects/flashlight/[texture's name]" because the default texture sucks

You can find the texture's name by going to the lamps tool and hover over the texture you want but we'll be using only soft and hard
no peepee joke

Again i won't be explaining everything about this, figure it out yourself

Lighting Time
Now for the reason you're even here in first place The Lighting

Main light,Highlight light

I usually use this light to highlight the focus of the subject (you can have more than 1)

Fill Light,Ambient Light
This light will fill the dark spots and give colors to the subject
(can also be use as lightbounce and more)

For this light you need to disable the shadows
(adjust the brightness and color however you like)

(NOTE : This light does not affect your computer's performance, so you can have as many of these as you like)

Now surround the subject with this,I usually put them above and under in front and back of the subject

Result
see? now this is coming together nicely
Still with me? Great, now we're moving on to

Rimlight
This light isn't really necessary, It makes the subject a little more stand out

Basically just a light that is very very bright
You want to put this light behind the subject to give them outline-ish and make them stand out when you creating a poster

Rimlights can be a little tricky, You have to make them noticeable but not too much

Too Much ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Too Little
Just right
(Again you can have more than 1 of these)
AND WE ARE DONE or are we?

Teenee Tiny Details
Sometime little details can make your poster a lot better

If you think there're any spots that are a little too dark, use fill light to make them brighter.

Result

You can also use fill light to make The SSS effect(subsurface scatter. If you don't know what that is, google it) basically this >>>

To do this you'll need to take your fill light bright in up and change the color to red, orange then put it near the rimlight spot (man,i am explaining this really badly)

And here's the final picture
AND THAT'S IT YOU'RE DONE
Extra Goofs
Here some extra stuff for you gamers

Try experimenting with colors and you can make something that looks interesting

"Geez Bla why don't you use something else that isn't tf2." says literally everyone
You're right,Try some other models

You did it,Gamer

Harray

I wanted to ask how do you make a certain parts glow?
Like McCree cigar in your pic or maybe making an eye glow
