Why do you need that much space between rails? shouldnt 2 be enough?
1) I meant "not co-linear". Perpendicular is fine too.
2) That's harder to explain, I might make a sub-heading for it if I'm ever inspired to write more. You're guess is correct through, my ammunition networks were 0-providers 1-requesters.
3) That's valid, depends on how much everyon'es lokoing to min-max.
4) In general: You have infinite space, build spread out. Wall-to-wall I have 25 or more blocks of space between rooms. 5-gap, rail, 3-gap, rail, 5-gap, rail, 3-gap, rail, 5-gap.
5) There was one or two cases, but otherwise no. Make sure you're on the staging branch of the game. It sets the default to NOT wait-for-full.
4. Do you have any advice on overall layout/planning? I'm playing through for the first time, and I definitely did not lay out my base in a way that facilitates easy cart access. How large are the "aisles" between your rooms?
5. Do you EVER use "wait for full?" I find that carts CONSTANTLY get stuck sitting empty at stations that are set to wait for full. I don't even try anymore.
1. I think you meant "perpendicular", not "parallel" in the Implementation Tips section.
2. Could you go into a little more detail on when stations should have 0 carts assigned? I'm assuming that's for provider stations, and only requester stations should have carts requested, but I'm curious if there's more to it.
3. One thing I'd suggest more people do is make the first piece of track immediately on leaving a station be a turbo track, THEN a curve and a one-way. It helps gets empty carts out of the way noticeably faster (especially before bulk carts), and improves overall throughput by a couple percent. It requires leaving one more block of space between stations, so if you really really need station density more than individual throughput per station, stick with putting the turbo track *after* the leaving-the-station-curve piece.
Obviously I got distracted.
