What does this mod do?

Advent Field Training adds a new SitRep that can happen at any time during the game.

The SitRep is called Advent Training Exercises and when it happens, you'll have Tier 1 fresh out of the academy... I mean cloning facility... OH WAIT!! Um... you don't know that yet ;) Anyway fresh new GREEN Advent troopers are out doing "Training Exercises". You always hear the Advent Speaker or other media outlets talking about "Training Exercises". Well... its true, the new troops do in fact go out on training. When these exercises happen, these troopers are led by Training Officers.

These Training Officers are in a drab grey and don't have a cape. A well trained XCom Sharpshooter can easily pick out any Officer on the field, but lesser trained militia would have a harder time picking out a Training Officer in the field without the brighter colors or the cape that is a mark of a higher ranking Advent Officer.

This SitRep is designed to force a mission at any point in the game that will give you the player, more opertunity to bring out your lesser experienced soldiers to pick up some easier kills and get some much needed XP.

OH wait!!!!!! While you'll not get pod after pod of mid to late game higher difficulty enemies during this SitRep, there is a catch!! These Training Officers will be out in force. You will have one leading every pod. AND There is no limit to when an early, mid or late game Training Officer can show up. Yes its a bit more rare for a late game Training Officer to show up in the early game but it can happen.

This is the trade off to having all lower ranked troopers to have fun killing and get XP for your lower ranked soldiers. The Advent pod leaders will always be Training Officers and possibly higher tier early or you might get lucky and have some lower tier ones still leading lower tier soldiers in a late game SitRep.


Training Officers have the same stats as base game Captains BUT they can Influence the soldiers around them with a buff that raises 1 soldier's mobility, offense and defense. If 2 Training Officers target the same soldier, their influence CAN STACK. Good thing the tier 1 advent only have a few HP right ;) Training Officers also use Flashbang grenades while on training exercises and can still mark XCom Targets for their trainees.

Training Officers now can call in more recruits. Tier 1 Training Officers can call in a pod of 2 base Advent every 4 turns if he wants or you let them. Tier 2 Training Officers can call in a pod of 3 every 3 turns and Tier 3 can call in a pod of 4 every 2 turns. These reinforcements are on a global cooldown. So you wont have 2 or more of the same tier Training Officer, spamming call ins back to back. BUT if you have different tier Training Officers on the field, they can call in the reinforcements back to back if the AI falls that way.

UPDATE: (IF) you happen to be using our Even More Robots mod, Training Officers now have a small chance that an Adv Riot Control MEC may drop in with them.

Training Officers now have (2) Flashbang Grenades each.

And the Sitrep can spawn up to Force Level 20.
