These are grouped for convenience into "sets" of three objects as encountered in the game through "most direct path" or "speed-run" type play. These include the Puzzle Boxes, Decoder Boxes, and all Flourite locations. This guide will also help you with the three special consecutive traps section of the game.

No spoilers means uncover only what you want to find as you play the game. Just mouse-over any black section to reveal the info (or in the case of a black square, a picture of the location in question). A complete video walk-through of the water trap crest puzzle solution is also available here if you want it.

☀ 1ST SET - SAMANOSUKE

☼ 1st FLOURITE: inside temple door, in shelf on right of entrance

⊞ 1st PUZZLE BOX: Left, Right, Left { ROPE LADDER }

⌹ 1st DECODER BOX:

What clan has been subverted by the demons?

THE CLAN OF OGRES (1st, 3rd, and 6th choices) { MAGIC JEWEL }

☀ 2ND SET - SAMANOSUKE

⌹ 2nd DECODER BOX:

Name the relic created by the clan of Ogres to destroy the demons.

THE GAUNTLET OF OGRES (6th, 1st, and 4th choices) { POWER JEWEL }
☼ 2nd FLOURITE: after 1st boss fight, break urns in passageway and search floor

⊞ 2nd PUZZLE BOX:
Left, Right, Left, Right (x2) { BOW }
Don't cut the rope!
☼ 3rd FLOURITE: after running into Kaede with Yumemaru, it's in a small cupboard above the treasure box near the stairs
☼ 4th FLOURITE: upstairs level of the keep, under the stairs near the arrows treasure box

☠ SPECIAL TRAPS ☠

BARS & LEVERS
1. Pull the only lever!
2. As Kaede: pull the right lever in the next set.
3. As Samanosuke: pull the left lever.
4. As Kaede: pull the far left lever in the next set.
5. As Samanosuke: (get armor from chest) then pull the right lever in the set Kaede is holding and then get Kaede straight through the door!
DROPPING PLATFORMS
Tip 1: The +'s and X's are in random positions each game and it's possible to screw up if you don't think far enough ahead sometimes.
Tip 2: Stepping on + will open all Up/Down/Right/Left tiles out from where it is; X is the same but does this diagonlly.
Tip 3: Only one person has to reach the far left circle; the other person can go anywhere so long as they don't fall in.
WATER CREST PUZZLE
Note: Alt+Tabbing out of game will pause the game and the puzzle timer while this trap is active.
Tip 1: Overall, get the Crest (2 gold halves) into the lower middle position.
Tip 2: Work towards staging the Crest halves into the outside (left and right) position of the background crest, one side at a time.
Tip 3: Start by moving the two small middle squares down one each to start and leave them there as you work the left side first.
Tip 4: Once the left side is in place, move the two smaller middle squares out of the way so you can move the right crest piece into place.

☀ 3RD SET - SAMANOSUKE

☼ 5th FLOURITE: after TOUKICHIRO cutscene where he jumps off the building, in the makeup box in the same room

⊞ 3rd PUZZLE BOX: Middle, Right, Left

☼ 6th FLOURITE: Underground Library - inside the iron maiden / torture box
☼ 7th FLOURITE: Underground Laboratory - on the floor next to the door requiring the BLUE KEY

☽ 4TH SET - KAEDE

Note: The game switches you to Kaede at some point here...

☼ 8th FLOURITE: West Area Prison Gates - in the first part, on a rock to the right of the last torch
☼ 9th FLOURITE: West Area Prison Gates - in the second part, to the right of the door with three blue crystals
⌹ 3rd DECODER BOX:

Name the mysterious location where the Ogres gather.

THE CHASM OF DIMENSIONS (5th, 7th, and 2nd choices) { MAGIC JEWEL }
☼ 10th FLOURITE: in the room behind the gear-piece door, opposite the normal treasure box
☼ 11th FLOURITE: next to bottom of stairs leading up to the SACRED KNIFE in the 4th puzzle box ahead
⊞ 4th PUZZLE BOX: Middle, Right (x2), Left (x2) { SACRED KNIFE }

☀ 5TH SET - SAMANOSUKE
