Miniboss: The Champion
The Champion is a miniboss of which multiple instances can be found in the game, however, the mechanics are always the same.

The Champion has just one sigil on the back.

Strategy 1: Attacking the legs
The strategy is to make the boss fall on its knees, mount the back and attack. The downside of this strategy is that it requires you to bring enough weapons to deal significant damage and these weapons will be consumed in the process.
  • the boss approaches you as soon is you cross its field of view, you might want to avoid that to get really close before the actual fight starts
  • start attacking its legs while avoid getting hit
  • once enough damage was dealt the Champion falls on its knees
  • use this opportunity to mount his back, a little jump can help
  • the boss will almost continuously try to shake you off, don't let him
  • during this period it's quite impossible to operate the sigil but make sure you are close enough to attack immediately once your opportunity comes
  • after a shorter or longer series of shake-off attempts the boss will start its special attack, as soon as you become aware of this start attacking
  • you only have time for one full attack removing 1/3 of life from the sigil, as soon as that's done jump off the boss and move away far enough to be save from the special attack
  • repeat the whole process starting with attacking the legs
  • alternatively switch to Stragey 2 discussed below
  • once 3 full attacks are done each removing 1/3 of life from the sigil the boss is defeated and will drops a lot of loot usually including something specil like a 3 stars item

Strategy 2: Gliding from the wall onto the boss
The strategy is to lure the boss close to a wall, glide from the wall onto the boss and attack. This strategy might be more difficult but has the advantage that it can be successful without consuming weapons.
  • the boss approaches you as soon is you cross its field of view, you might want to avoid that to get really close before the operation starts
  • avoid getting hit while luring the boss close to a wall
  • when close to the wall climb the wall as fast as possible, beware of the ranged attacks
  • climg the higher section of the wall as fast as possible, beware of the ranged attacks
  • stay at the outer edge of the wall, first to avoid attacks and secondly to leave the field of view of the boss, best climb/hang at the outer wall
  • after not being in the field of view of the boss it will give up hunting you and turn around to go back to the center of the arena
  • as soon as the boss turns around glide from the wall towards its back and try to land on the back and cling on to it
  • the boss will almost continuously try to shake you off, don't let him
  • during this period it's quite impossible to operate the sigil but make sure you are close enough to attack immediately once your opportunity comes
  • after a shorter or longer series of shake-off attempts the boss will start its special attack, as soon as you become aware of this start attacking
  • you only have time for one full attack removing 1/3 of life from the sigil, as soon as that's done jump off the boss and move away far enough to be save from the special attack
  • repeat the whole process starting with luring the boss close to the wall
  • alternatively switch to Strategy 1 discussed above
  • once 3 full attacks are done each removing 1/3 of life from the sigil the boss is defeated and will drops a lot of loot usually including something specil like a 3 stars item

Are there other reasonable strategies? Anything that could be improved in the guide? Please let me know.
1st boss: The Skull
The first boss as suggested by the signs in the Temple is The Skull.
2nd boss: The Worm / The Tower
The 2nd boss as suggested by the signs at the Temple is the The Worm aka The Tower.
3rd boss: The Boar
The 3rd boss as suggested by the signs at the Temple is The Boar. For The Boar there's more or less just one reasonable strategy with some minor variations to reach different sigils.

Strategy
  • first go for the sigil on the chest, it's not a requirement but might finish the fight faster
  • the sigil on the chest can only be attacked when the boar lies on its side
  • once the opening cutscene has finished move left or right towards the wall and then along the wall until you reach a pressure plate
  • press the pressure plate standing at the right foward corner, face to the right while observing the boss
  • the boss will charge in your direction and hit the pillar behind the pressure plate causing some area of effect damage, so make sure to jump off the plate and gain some distance to avoid taking damage, but also not too early which would make the boss aborting the attack
  • after the boss has hit the pillar it will fall onto its right side (causing are damage and) exposing the sigil on its chest to the side where you should stand
  • move to the sigil on the chest while avoiding damage from falling debris and attack it, you will only have time for 1 attack before the mobs stands up again, so move away right after finishing the first attack
  • run/walk to one of the remaining 2 pressure plates and repeat the process one time: luring boss, when fallen attacking the sigil on the chest
  • run/walk to the last remaining pressure plate but this time stand on the left foward corner facing left while observing the boss, the boss will stand up much faster this time, too fast for attacking the sigil on the chest
  • when the boss is charging closer jump off to the left, and run to where the right hindleg/back hits the ground
  • jump the fur at the right hindleg/back as fast as possible, the boss will stand up really fast this time and you might not succeed, if so read skip the next bullet points and continue further below
  • at this point, after all three pillars at the pressure plates are done the boss will enter frenzy mode accompanied by a cutscene
  • the boss will try to shake you off randomly but will not attack you directly
  • your first target should be the sigil on the left hindleg, it's relatively easy just make sure you don't fall off
  • once the sigil on the left hindleg is done climb back to the center of the back, there you can also stand and regain Stamina when the boss isn't moving too much or shaking
  • you next target should be the sigil on the right side/shoulder, grab the fur as close as possible to the center of the back and climb down and foward from there while ensuring you aren't shaken off
  • once the sigil on the right side/shoulder is reached it's easy to take out, just make sure you don't fall off
  • after the sigil on the right side/shoulder is done your next target should be the sigil on top of the head
  • from the sigil on right side/shoulder climb towards the neck and from there up onto the head, the success of this endeavor depends very much on how much Stamina you've left but if you manage to get there you're almost done
  • at the sigil on top of the head you can stand and regain Stamina when the boss isn't moving too much or shaking
  • attack the sigil on top of the head while avoiding to fall off, it should be easy to take out once you've reached it
  • what now should be left is 1/3 of the sigil on the chest, you can only attack it from the ground while the boss is lying on the side
  • now that the boss is in frenzy mode you don't need pressure plates anymore to make it ramming the wall, you can actually get it to hit any wall by standing there long enough, optionally use arrows to draw the bosses attention
  • stand anywhere at the outer wall, any of the used and defunct pressure plates would be a good spot
  • when the boss is charging and about to hit the wall jump to the right
  • after the boss has fallen attack the sigil on the chest and done

Variation: if you didn't manage to climb the boss after it hit the 3rd pressure plate or you fell off from the boss at any point after and your target is either the sigil on the leg or the side
  • when the boss is charging and about to hit the wall jump to the left and run to where the right hindleg/back hits the ground
  • jump the fur at the right hindleg/back, as there's some time before the boss stands up you might want to pause for a couple of seconds to regain Stamina
  • climb up onto the back

Variation: if you didn't manage to climb the boss after it hit the 3rd pressure plate or you fell off from the boss at any point after and your target is the sigil on the head
  • when the boss is charging and about to hit the wall jump to the right and stay relatively close to the head but far away enough to avoid damage from the falling boss
  • jump and climn the fur surrounding the neck, as there's some time before the boss stands up you might want to pause for a couple of seconds to regain Stamina
  • climb up onto the head

Variation: Climb the boss immediately after attacking the sigil on the chest
  • after you've attacked the sigil on the chest you can use the opportunity and climb the boss, however, the success of this endeavour very much depends on how much Stamina you have still left
  • immedialty after finished the attack crab the fur towards the neck and start climbing in direction of the chin
  • once you've reached a postion at the neck you can climb upwards and try to get onto the head
where you can stand and regain Stamina, you might also be able to reach the sigil on the right side but due lack of Stamina you probably won't be able to attack it

Variation: Use the pillars to glide onto the boss
  • climb any of the pillars in arena before they are destroyed and glide onto the nearby boss

Variation: Use wall to glide onto the boss, preferably the head
  • lure the boss to ram into the wall
  • climb the wall as fast as possible or use a hookshot as a shortcut
  • from the wall glide onto the boss which will still lie if you've been fast or just stand up

How do you beat The Skull? I have no weapons so have resorted to just sprinting between firepits lol

I would like to add that for the troll, it'd be best to aim for the head first. There are 3-4 ways to get to it and its the easiest to get to. Either shoot it in any eye or climb up its arm after a slam and you can grapple to its back (easy to take out the head). Follow that up with 2 arrow shots (for easiest arm killing) or climbing up the arms after a fist slam, and then just climb up to take out the arms.

Shoot an exploding arrow at the ground between his feet, that will bring him down faster saving your weapons. Exploding arrows can be found in the arena of the Boar.

At least in the release version, you can also trigger the Tower's orb mechanisms by getting it to hit them with the shots.

40 foot ogre guy was all about getting in front of him, kind of close range. Too far and he swipes, too close and he stomps. So if you're at the right spot he throws a punch straight down, and you can climb his arm. Get both arms done, then climb towards the top of his arm, avoiding the top of the shoulder, leap off, grapple to the place on his back, climb to his head, remove his battery and bam, he's deadzo. All the towers, the fireplace thing, it was all red herrings, just dodge the punch and get on the arms.

I'm currently stuck on the 40 foot ogre one. I've busted his seals on his arms by luring him over to the tower structure with an arrow, then jump/gliding at his arms when he rares back to swing at you. Now I have two tower structures left and the grapple places on his back are never close enough to get. So I'll probably starve to death before he ever wanders his goofy ass near me.

The flying one was just running around the froze over towers to let his projectiles clear them off, climb them, activate the orbs on the top of them to power up the vents to glide up. I fought him at night, and it was total ass. Just drift to the center vent and let it carry you up high enough to get on his back. He has orbs on his back that you have to shoot to turn the large rings blocking your path around his body. Pump all his seals and crash him into the earth.

For the Worm boss there are orbs around the boss you can activate with an arrow or your grapple shot. Just run around dodging the projectiles it spews, activate the orbs. Once the orbs have been activated you can go stand on the pressure plate below the large monolith and it will daze the tower like worm, slumping it over and allowing you the chance to climb aboard. Then you go around pumping seals, and he dies pretty quickly. There are even ledges for you to rest up on. If he bucks you off or you just make a mistake, you can go reactivate the pressure plate.

Glide strategy basically doesn't work. I've been at it for an hour. Constantly overshooting, undershooting, randomly changing direction or dropping like a stone. The wind in this game...
