Open hosts file as administrator, update, save
1) Search for notepad in start menu, right click it, choose "Run as administrator";
2) In the notepad program, do File -> Open, navigate to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" (assuming your WinOS disk is C:\);
3) Choose to show All files, not just text files;
4) select hosts file to open;

you should see something like this as last few lines:

modify the file so it looks like this:

here is text string you must add for convenience:
127.0.0.1 launcher01.kalypsomedia.com

save the file (if this step fails, its possible that you have not opened the file with admin privileges)

5) start the game and congrats on not needing to fiddle with accounts
Explanation:
If you want to know what hosts file does then read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)

Thus, when Klaypso launcher tries to find "launcher01.kalypsomedia.com" , operating system serves the launcher IP address of 127.0.0.1 (which is our own machine) and not Kalypso servers.

Google how to find product key in steam, if you have legit copy on steam, you also have the product key for it.

so a key thing to note that i figured out the hard way, it will still bring up what looks like the launcher to ask for the key but when actually works

GREAT.

I had a key invalid problem with the Kalypso launcher...something very frequent with this POS launcher for many of their games or updates...

I could pass this bug with your guide: the key was accepted..

Thanks !

Bro, it's literally just called "hosts". Are you sure you're in the right folder?
