Overview
Welcome to my trap- er I mean guide! This guide is meant just for the people who are new to trading, or people who just suck at it, thats fine with me. Keep in mind that this is my first guide and I hope that all ends well.

So some of you may be asking your self, what is trading?
Trading is an in-game system that lets players exchange items with other players. Introduced with the Mann-Conomy Update, this system allows players to swap weapons, hats, misc items, tools and more with other players. Later on, Valve also added the ability to trade items from different games to each other. So there you have it! Now lets move on to the good stuff.
Keep in mind that the links in this guide will take you to other guides that belong to their rightful owners.

Values and prices (and metals)
Before we make a trade we must learn about the values/prices of hats/mics.
Some of this may be confusing at first, but once you take a look It will be pretty easy!

So I want a hat thats 1.66. what do I do? Thats why we have metals! Most traders use metals, keys, buds, etc. But lets start with the metals

Scraps are 0.11

reclaimed is 0.33

and refiend is 1.00

so if I want a hat for 1.66 I would need 1 refiend 6 scraps or 2 reclaimed.

Where do you get these so called *metals*
you can get metals from crafting them, 3 wepons from the same class to make a scrap, 3 scraps to make reclaimed, and 3 reclaimed to make a refined. Check out this guide on how to craft a hat

Now lets practice some more!

This one is pretty simple

I want a hat for 2.00 so I would need 2 refiend, easy!

One more time, a hat is 5.66, so I need 5 refiend, and 6 scraps or 2 reclaimed.
Easy peasy right? Except that hat I just bought was worth 1 key so...
Keys, buds and unusuals
What are keys and buds? Well I'll explain.
Keys are worth 5.66, so 5 refiend, and 6 scraps or 2 reclaimed.
Now what are keys? Keys are just keys! Except that these are special keys, but not like the ones you get in dungeons, NOPE. But you you open stuff with if? Why yes! But these keys cost money and are used to open crates.

Those are pictures of a crate and a key. In real life, you know what a key looks like, so you know what a crate is.

You just saw a picture of the buds, and buds are one if the most valuable items in the games, and are used to buy unusuals, but what are unusuals? Unusuals are known to be the most valuable hats in the game and is known to be the holy grail of traders, they also include a nice set of effects. Check out these 2 pics of these so called *unusuals*

You can get these hats by opening a crate at a rare chance, enter a raffle or something else random, or just trade!

Beware the scammers!
What are scammers? Scammers are theives who either snatch your rare items for low price, or for free! This is a trading guide for beginners so I wouldn't talk abount scammers in a time like this, ok maybe I will. You can go to steam rep+ which is a site to search and report the latest scammers, when your trading DON'T SAY THAT YOUR READY UNTIL THE OTHER PERSON IS READY, if you don't do this you would have a higher change of having a scammer check their ready box and take your items right off the bat! You can be hated throuout the community by scamming and you may get trade banned, which means no trading... EVER.

Use the information in this guide and make your move, when your ready check the blue box to let the other trader know that your ready, and your done! But that dosen't mean that this guide is over...
Trade servers and trade sites
If your looking for the place to trade, these servers and sites are the best options.
Trade servers are like regular servers, but their true purpose is to trade. If you want to make a trade just type in a message in the chat box like: Selling hats for 2.00 ref - 5.00 ref, trade me! Copy that message and keep pasting, no luck? Try these 2 sites
