This is my first ever Steam Mod so I'd appreciate it if you could leave a like/rate the mod, it would let me know if it's worth doing more of this kind of thing. Comments welcome as well!

For those of us from Scotland, we have become well accustomed to Creative Assembly putting almost no effort into their research and development of Scottish content in their games. Today is a step closer to putting this right.

May I introduce the Kingdom of Dál Riata. This is a mod in development and will be updated but as of now you can play as a the new Gaelic kingdom.

Dál Riata has the Scottish recruitment pool, Scottish names and is placed in it's historic heartland.

Enjoy and slàinte mhath!

Didn't Dal Riata fall like two or three decades earlier? Sudreyar's faction description (or was it former Dal Riata capital description?) mentions how Sudreyar formed out of conquering Dal Riata and (for the purposes of not making Sudreyar too big in the game) gave DR's former land in Scotland to SRYR's vassal, Galloidel.

Its cool to see Gaelic speakers! Yeah I agree, CA has no will of putting effort like in the good old days, its just: Generic unique culture, no uniqueness between cultures, all Irish have the same units while they could had added more uniqueness into some tribes, the Fortriu could had more Pictish units for example as they represent the last stronghold of Pictish culture in what is today Scotland, even add some painted warriors, it might be historically innacurate , but well... Egypt in Rome 1 argument haha.

Dear modders you are a blessing you take your own personnal time to make more fun what paid employees and directors could not, so thank you a thousand times

One fix that I recommend to this mod is that when you start the campaign and the campaign is loading... it highlights the faction of Mierce. During the campaign, West Essex disputes my crown. When I dispute they declare war on me... apparently based off me being Mierce, which I am not.

lol the bloods of Eire, Armuhl and of Wales runs in these veins, along with that of the Picts; lol thus whilst certainly as a Morgan descendant I Must appreciate Buubba'd 's whitticism in the matter as well from that view, ;) , 'Dal Riata' might well be said to be a "part of me": I respect and appreciate your endeavor here therefore highly.

It's a matter of debate. Many historians do think that it was destroyed by the Vikings, causing its nobility to flee east and eventually Gaelicise the Picts. That's the theory that the Creative Assembly went with.
