I never been to Japan. The closest i ever got to it is Australia.

Akihabara is basically the name of a town in TOkyo, meaning "Electric Town". It's the electric town of lights where all of the biggest and best arcades are, including my favorite the Sega arcade with dedicated UFO catcher floors and different floors for arcade cabinets <3 Also great record shops
