Options
Garrison: Archangel provides the players with multiple options to control their camera so they can pilot their mechs how they prefer. As it is a very fast game, tracking speed for both the player and target can be changed independently. There are also two distinct angles to view the fights in.

The Camera settings can be found under Gameplay Options in the Main Menu.
They can also be accessed on-the-fly on the Pause menu while in a match.

Camera Offsets
The Camera Offsets provide the biggest changes in the camera settings as they will give very different close-up views of the Archangels in combat. From player-feedback, preferences strongly depend on what other titles they have played before and even on what weapon loadouts they are using. It can make the game look more methodical or more action-oriented.

In further distances, both will appear the same with both player and target at the center of the screen. While approaching melee range, the camera will smoothly transition to the chosen offset angle. Transitions from Far to Near offsets start at around 100 meters.

The Default camera offset appears more like a top-down view similar to traditional mech and shooter games. The player will be centered at the bottom of the screen.

In the Alternate camera offset, the view appears more like a fighting game with both mechs standing side-by-side in profile. The player will be centered more on the left side of the screen.

Default and Alternate Camera Offsets
Camera Distance
Camera Distance affects how far the camera will be from your Archangel.

Distance set to 1 and 2
Camera Look
The Camera Look setting affects how fast the camera tracks the target's mech to keep it at the center of the screen. When set to 1, there is no smoothing and the target will remain at the center of the screen as much as possible. Set to higher smoothing at 5, the camera will track slower and allow the target to move off-center for a short time. The effects may not show much in shorter clips but are more visible in-game in extended engagements.

Default Camera Offset with Look Smoothing set to 1 and 5

Alternate Camera Offset with Look Smoothing set to 1 and 5
Camera Follow
The Camera Follow setting affects how fast the camera tracks the player's mech to keep it at the center of the screen. When set to 1, there is no smoothing and the player will remain at the center of the screen as much as possible. Set to higher smoothing at 5, the camera will track slower and allow the player to move off-center for a short time.

Soft-Lock
The default locked camera does not allow the player to have control over the camera's pitch and yaw. It was made for 1-vs-1 battles where you only have to focus on a single target.

Soft-Lock mode can be activated by Unlocking the camera (Mouse 3 or Right Analog button) then using the Gesture key (Tab or Y). It is designed to feel more like modern character action games' cameras where you can see more movement in the screen rather than being locked at an angle. The mech's weapons will remain trained at the target for firing. The player is given slight control for influencing the camera's movement before it eases back to center the target. In PvE modes like Horde, the camera will also auto-switch targets automatically when the last one is lost.

As of writing this guide, Soft-Lock is currently not available in Online Multiplayer.
