Tower unite sorta has no tutorials and occasionally Global Chat will bury your asks of "how do i do X?" under existing convos across the servers. usually the community is nice however so if it's not on the guide, ask Global chat and be patient. that said, this guide will cover all the most common questions of "how the peck do i do X" for you.

chances are if you're asking any of these most common questions, it's all here.

let's start with two of the most necessary to answer ones:
-how do i make money?
you play minigames, either from the ones in the main menu, or from the ones in the plaza. there's also events and all that jazz, more on that later.

-are there micr-
NEVER. devs have stated numerous times and hell, it's even on the list of selling points for the Steam Store page.

now for items and avatars
-i see folks flying and there's trails coming out thier backs. how do i do that too?
in the plaza servers there's a store called Rob's Imports. talk to him and bring 2000 Units, and buy the Jetpack.

-okay i have it but i still can't fly?
hold Q. you'll see a drop down menu that shows your inventory. drag the jetpack into the top bar. now press space and if you're flying instead of jumping, congrats! if that fails or you can't use an equipped item at any time after you get something, shuffle your items on and off the hotbar, usually fixes it.

-i see all sorts of cool avatars. how do i get one?
ah yes, workshop support. hold C and click "Workshop avatars" happy hunting!

-Treasure from the sea? how do i participate in that?
you'll need to head to the stray. Look for the Lighthouse, enter it. buy the "Metal Detector" from the cat insie and equip it like you did the jetpack. be sure to check the other beaches when you are hunting treasure.

-where's everything else?
at this point i must say you should just wander around the plaza. you'll find it eventually~

-avatar ain't loading WTF?
go into options, and uncheck the limiter on avatar details. if that's unchecked and you still ain't loading, hit K. you'll ragdoll and be unable to move. this is normal, don't panic. just hit your left mouse button. you should respawn and hopefully your avatar loaded.

Condo stuff
-how do i place stuff?
hold q, drag the item from your inventory to where you want it.

-okay but i wanna be precise.
two options: A) hit E while dragging an item from your inventory to enable the snap. B) leftclick the item inworld while holding Q to manually edit it's postion with numbers or a slider. PS, you can rotate to some degree with the mouse wheel when dragging an item

-the day night cycle annoys me. and folks are eating my pizza! how do i stop folks from tossing knives at me in my condo? i need to save a backup!
C is your best friend. all that is in Condo options.

-how the Peck do i use Canvas objects? heck, where do i get them? also i gotta pick up junk in my condo.
to answer the second question, you get them at Robs for the most part, with some popping up in other stores. the first and third questions are answered by right clicking an object while holding Q. here you can stash items and edit object settings. canvases work differently from other objects in that you can copy-paste a link to where the image itself is (make sure the link ends in an image file format, namely PNG or JPG) to set the texture.

-can i sell stuff?
if you truly don't need something, you can right click it in your inventory and hit the sell button.

-i don't like this condo. can i sell those too?
be sure to leave your condo first. then hit escape if you're not on the main menu, or just click Inventory. look for the condo, do the same thing as if it were in the Q menu in a plaza or your condo.

-can we trade?
... that's more up to the devs than anything.

now for the less common ones.

-can i decorate my condos with anything?
yes, nobody's going to stop you. just know you might wanna make something you could show your mother, father, or somebody you'd respect if you think on making a condo that's gonna be public. or go ahead and do it anyway. there's parental controls if you gotta chip on your tooth, and you can always just avoid the condos like the plague.

-why is ugandan knuckles in this game? can i bleach my eyes of this monstrosity?
idk. what i do know is you can block workshop playermodels on a "per model" basis. i have another guide on how to do that already though.

-why are you a furry?
dunno, lol... okay i'll come out, it's nintendo. blame them for making ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ furrybait.

-i wanna make stuff for Workshop!
it's dangerous to go blindly, take this![www.towerunite.com] just make sure you don't make ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff that is utter messes to look at, so it won't get removed from WS. Day 1 of workshop support was a wild ride the devs don't wanna return to for reasons that were thankfully SFW: there were 'deformed masses' wandering around. Rip "Anime Snowcone."

-how the actual ♥♥♥♥ does this playerbase make such impressive condos?
Grinding units, hard work and determination[i.ytimg.com]. also loads of canvas objects.

-why is my game so laggy?
there's optimization guides for this game that better explain how to fix it. also load the game using Direct X 10 on top of that. if the game still lags, get a better PC or an ISP that isn't garbage.

-okay but why did you cut me off earlier?
... oh. the microtransactions? because everyone, the devs of this game included, hate the concept. also you must not of seen the Casino or the Catsacks. those are the real reasons the devs will never add microtransactions that aren't "because the devs know nobody wants to see them ever like come on we all know it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ practice and they probably took an oath to never do evil"*

-why are people talking about GMod Tower or GMT?
GMod tower is the precursor to Tower Unite. turns out it's hard to work around a hard coded entity limit in Source engine and an ever changing LUA code base where the functions change every month for a project that big.*

*i do not speak for the devs, and if pixeltail comes around and gives proper answers, i'll add them to the guide and copypaste the post in place of the original text.

EDIT: updated to deal with the new location of the Stray. as this is a quick start guide i probs won't bother with achievos aside from explaining them:

"what are these achievos you speak of?"
achievements. standard fare stuff, expect to grind a few of them by simply playing the games they are a part of. others, such as *hunting the ever elusive whales of Desertion* are pretty much the tougher ones and you might need to look for a guide on that.

"where are the RC vehichles?"
Toy Store. buy them and equip like any other usable item.
