This guide is about best base locations on The long dark (This is simple guide which is for Beginners)... Im not a PRO player but while playing the game I discoverd the best places for seting up your base!(I apologize if I make some mistakes while wrighting the guide :D)

*Mystery Lake*

Best location for your base in mystery lake is *CAMP OFFICE* : Now Im going to tell you why the Camp Office is good base location... First of all near camp office on mystery lake you can find fishing huts which are good for catching fish ofc... Second, Camp Office has a lot of space where you can put your stuff, in house you can find : 2 Beds, Crafting Table and 2 Stoves (Wood Stove and Pot Belly Stove)! From Camp office you can easily travel to the Trapers Cabin , Mystery lake huts , Carter Hydrodam , And Forestry Lookout! One good thing about Mystery Lake region is that it conects to Costal Highway , Pleasent Valley, Forlorn Muskeg (Where is the Forge) , and Mountain Town!

*Pleasent Valley*

Best location for your base in Pleasent Valley is *Pleasant Valley Farmstead* : Now Im going to tell you why... Well Pleasent Valley isnt the best region for surviving, yeah you have a lot of loot but its not like Mystery Lake... But the Pleasant Valley Farmstead is the best base location for sure... In House you can find : Fire Place, Bed , Kitchen, Bedrooms with a lot of cupoards and in a Basement you can find Some nice loot and lockers!... Near it you have a Barn which has some good loot in it... The Farmstead is big, and the basement aswell as the house can be used for disposaling your stuff! Also Pleasent Valley conects to Mystery Lake , Costal Highway and TimberWolf Mountain!

*Costal Highway*

Best location for your base in Costal Highway is *Quonset Garage* : Now Im going to tell you why... Quonset Garage is a place whit a nice loot and a lot of place for disposaling your stuff... In the garage you can find : Fire barrel, Tools, Lockers and Bed! There is a lot of houses around it and this spot is close to fishing huts not to close but a little bit of walking, it is close to Forestry Lookout, and from there you can almost visit every house on costal highway! Costal Hihgway is a region which conects to Mystery Lake, Pleasent Valley and Desolation Point!

*Mountain Town*

Best location for your base in Mountain Town is *Paradise Meadows Farm* or *Milton House* :
Why.. Well these two locations are near and it really doesent matter which one you will chose... Both of these locations have good loot and a lot of place for disposaling your stuff...Both of these houses offers : Fireplace, Bed, Kitchen, Cupboards and in Milton House you can Find yourself a GUN... These houses are near mountaing rope which can lead you to Mystery Lake... Mountain town can provide shelter and good loot, also it conects to Mystery Lake , Forlorn Muskeg and Hushed River Valley (Where you can find some good loot like Moose-hide satchel)!

I'd really recommend avoiding having a base in the garage in CH on Stalker, or you're likely to become a snack for the wolves right quick.

Yeah. You are right. If they get a gun, it would be much easier.

First Thank you for your opinion I like to discuss about The long dark... There is alot of wolfes... I agree with you aswell... But if they try to avoid them for a couple of days until they find a gun... Then they can clear the area and keep living there safely

(If you have more of interesting tips or guieds Id like to hear them)!

Really good guide. I have been playing the Long Dark for a long time now, and I totally agree with you. All of these places are very good base locations, but I am a little bit unsure about Costal Highway. Yeah, there are alot of places to put your stuff in the Garage, but there are also a CRAP ton on wolfs around it. For new people to the game it could be really irritating getting attacked by wolfs everytime you wish to enter your base. I would prefer Jackrabbit Island or Misanthrope's Homestead. They are more safe, but ALOT further away from the loot.
