The problem with making a fire hose, or anything that doesn't have fixed dimensions, rolls up or is expandable/contractable is that these type of models aren't like real world objects. They are rigid finite things. They don't wiggle, wobble or fall down in lumps and stretching or shrinking them doesn't look natural.
Models can be made to do this, however they must be made for the specificlly for the scene they are to be used in. Without being a modeller for a project and not having specific information, a modeller has no idea what is required. This is why i alsways advise that if you want custom models of this type, you have to learn how to create and texture them yourself.
