How to do it
To Make Magika Run on your Windows 10 operateing system is rather simple.

First make sure you have the game downloaded if you try running it after you download it, it will crash, this is because magika does not support the windows 10 operateing system. You can even look at the system requirements on the store page for magika and youll nottice windows 10 is not in the specs as a valid operateing system.

To get it to Run you go into your steam library and mouse over to magika once its downloaded, then right click it and and go into properties. Then Click the local Files Tab and click browse local files, this will take you over to the file where all of magickas game files are stored. Then mouse through the files till you find Magika.exe or on a Windows 10 Magika with the picture of an M thats in the font of magika's title with the type being an application. This is the shortcut that Steam uses to launch the game. Left click it once to select the application and then right click it to get a menu and then click properties. (Do not left click it twice or youll just launch it and have it crash on you...Again.)

Now what we are going to do here is a function all Windows Operateing system's have that is very handy for this situation. Go to the compatibilities Tab and left click it,youll see a few options but the one we are intrested in is the compatibility mode box. Check Run in Compatibility mode for, Then go to the drop down box below it and select it and scroll through it and look for Windows 7. Click Windows 7 in the many choices of the drop down box, all thats left is to click apply and okay.

What you did was Tell your Windows 10 computer to run the game as if it were a Windows 7 computer. Click play on magicka and youll nottice it doesnt start immediately give it some time to load because your compter needs a few seconds depending on the speed of your PC to set itself up to run it as a Windows 7 Computer. But then youll see it load up and be greeted with Magikas iconic menu tune.

This is a simple feature you can do with any game and I recommend it not only for magika but for any game in general. If your loading a game up and its not working and you see on the store page of the game, in the game requirements that your specific Windows Operateing system isnt shown as a Minimum or Recommended Operateing System.
XNA Issue?
Thanks to a user named RaubTieR to some recent discoveries. We have come to the conclusion that the only means to fix an XNA error on the windows 10 OS. Is if you have this error is to do one of 2 things.

*Get a mod or find a means to port Magicka to XNA4
Or
*Get the XNA3 Assets from the Windows 7 OS and apply them to Magicka

It may seem bad but thankfully another inquiry from the comments by #RNjudas (which I am surprised about given how old this thing is) told me you can fix it by going here. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35 and downloading the DirectX package.

Sadly I do not know if this works because I do not have the XNA issue personally. But I can for the most part safely assure this is not harmful since a lot of games on Steam use DirectX so chances are you have it downloaded in some way by default on your system. This is supposedly done to give you the right XNA files to not have this issue.
Disclaimer
This Guide wont fix every problem with a Windows 10 or the game in question. But it will make games that are meant to operate on earlier Window's Operateing Systems work more reliably. If it still crashes however then its a crash useally from something other then your Operateing system not being supported. Or the game haveing a confliction with your Hardware of your Computer. Or the game just being, well something that doesnt like you...

The problem was this guide was made way back when, when XNA was not a problem so really theres not much i can do other then to tell people of this glaring issue. So for now those are the only soulutions for those that want to play the game for now.

Sorry to bother you, but as I said, the problem on win10 is not XNA redist missing, the problem is it can NOT be installed. The following error occurs: http://prntscr.com/ryx9d5

I bet the game would work, given all the XNA files are available in the system, but there is no way getting them. May be if you have win7 and win10 pc, a sufficient set of XNA/.NET/VC files can be ripped form win7 system as-is, for win10 to run the game.

Or just port the game to XNA4. Unsure which is easier.

The guide has been updated with a potential fix for the XNA missing error.

It doesn't seem to work because Magicka wants XNA3.1, this XNA version can't be installed on Windows 10. Or at least I don't know the wae.

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: "Microsoft.Xna.Framework, Version=3.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=6d5c3888ef60e27d" :steamsad:

Yha Compatibility mode is Recommended. Rule of thumb Check OSs on store page and if yours is not supported run your computer in compatibility mode with an OS that is Compatible with the game in question.

SO simple that I didn't even think about it. I was trying to limit the frame rates and diagnose the connection with two Bluetooth controllers and all the problems were fixed with compatibility mode/ +1
