To disable the obnoxious amount of intro movies, just go to the games root folder/navigate to the following path:

<path to Steam>\SteamApps\common\Marvel - Ultimate Alliance\movies\hd\eng\i\1

Then move all *.bk2 files (except for i108.bk2 and i109.bk2) to a new subfolder or rename/delete them altogether.

i108.bk2 and i109.bk2 are the videos you see in the main menu, if you remove those aswell you'll get a black background, but the game continues to work as usual.
