Instagard 200

Descripción
About the Instagard 200

You can't put a self-defense turret in an SV, but you can build a very low cost disposable defense turret. Built by the blueprint factory in 3 minutes flat for the low cost of 30 iron, 32 copper, and 25 silicon, you can spawn this turret almost anywhere you go.

Just have 15 mm bullets and energy packs ready when you spawn it, and it can be protecting you in no time. Place it at the entrance of your mine or next to your construction site, and let the minigun pick off your foes one by one.

The Instagard 200 is a bit larger than the 100, but includes a bit more defensive plating and a mobile constructor you can use to make 15 mm ammo or assist in your mining and construction operations.

About the Instagard Series

These self defense turrets are actually HV's without any thrusters or hover engines. Once spawned, they cannot be moved, but they can be disassembled quickly with minimal loss of materials, and quickly rebuilt.

Thanks, that was a really wide answer. Going to try this for sure, I don't like the idea of my SV being left alone outside the Drone base.

I've used these in survival mode, single player. I don't know if multiplayer has any rules that prevent spawning HV's too close to another player's stuff, but I take out enemy POI with help from them all the time.

You can not only spawn them outside a POI, you can spawn them inside an active enemy POI. You can dig under a POI and blast a hole in the bottom, peek up and place one down. The only issue is they start with 0 energy and ammo so you have to load it. But once you do that, they'll go to town. Only problem is they try to blast the base itself by default and if you don't turn that off they can wipe out loot crates.

The minigun turret is tactically useful in certain POI like the abandoned drone base so you can establish sort of a "safe zone". You can watch it target critters to get an idea where they are, and it can shoot at them before you see them.

Have you tried to spawn these near POIs? I can't remember if there was a limit to that, that would be a killer if you could spawn these outside the Drone base for example.
