Getting the achievement out of season

To obtain this achievement when it's not Christmas, simply change your system's date to 25 of December before starting the game.

You will get the achievement as soon as you see the Main Menu.

Hahaha this is exactly what I did when I realised that it was the last achievement I needed for this game, Amazing game best Halloween game I have played thus far!

I choose to play "Grubbins on Ice" on christmas - it gives a good motif for it ^^

On Windows, the achievement doesn't seem to trigger in Big Picture mode. Turned off Big Picture and it worked right away.

Just did this trick (Win 7) today and it worked. The moment I saw this achievement, I figured it would be easy to circumvent, so I figured I'd post for those who are wondering.

I think the steam app uses GMT time with the timezone. I'm GMT -8 so I didn't get the achievement until after 8am.
