1. Launch the game. Pick region carefully if that's your first launch, choose nickname, enter the Port.
   
2. Open Steam overlay then open the dedicated thread from this guide or by finding it at the top of General discussions.
   
   
3. Click an invitation link. All those links are NOT one-use, so choose any that's from your region. Or ask your friend for one.

Don't forget to also add that person to Contacts in the game for playing in divisions later, it's more fun and may improve your results (you can also use in-game voice chat in divisions).

Send him a message, even if he's not online — he'll receive it next time he launches the game.

And why not friend him on Steam as well?

Show them this guide or that thread so they don't get confused: for Steam it's a bit tricky, they MUST NOT create the account through the website using that link if the plan to play on Steam.
