北海道札幌市北区に本社を置く家具小売り企業。
社名のとおり、創業者の名前は似鳥昭雄。
アメリカでは下の名前をとって「Aki-Home」である。
「おねだん以上。ニトリ」のキャッチコピーは有名ですが、「お値段異常」と揶揄されることもあります。

In America, taking the name below is "Aki-Home".
