[HL2] Nova

Nova is a single bomb Defuse map. However, it is playable also in Deathmatch.

Nova Prospekt was an environment that I had wanted to tackle for a long time. When looking through the Nova Prospekt maps, map d2_prison_03 was the most obvious choice. It's unique upper, extended control room provided an interesting possible objective point.

I also wanted to make a few changes. In the original Half Life 2 version, there wasn't much to see through the windows. So I fixed that and added in a skybox and some exterior details, including part of the building that would be d2_prison_02. As well, in prison_02, there is a doorway that appears to lead to prison_03, so I added that. I also thought rain would be an interesting addition as there is no rain in Half Life 2. Finally, I also wanted to make the map feel more dilapidated. So I added in some plant life and smashed open a few more areas.

On top of this, I also decided to look at Lockdown, a map from Half Life 2 Deathmatch that used d2_prison_03 as its base. However, I didn't like the overall layout of the map as it was primarily made for the faster paced gameplay of Deathmatch. That and it changed too much of the original map. I did like the idea of a balcony in mid, which I did add.

Like I said before, this was something that I had wanted to do for a while. I don't think this will be my last HL2 map for CS:GO, but I do want to focus on different sources and more original content. Either way, I would love to know what you think and tell me if you want more HL2 maps.
